Player Code Policy
In order to make the pro-am series the most equitable and fair experience possible for all players, the following Player Code Policy will be in effect for the upcoming season:
There are three player codes for Amateurs when determining which set of tees to play: A, B and C players.
In addition to player codes for tees, there are three player categories for the double-low ball team game: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
How to determine player code for which set of tees to play
Each amateur will begin an event coded as an A, B or C player based on their rolling pro-am handicap calculated from completed pro-am tournaments.
A player - 5.9 and below
B player - 6.0 - 13.9
C player - 14.0 and above

If the player is new, their player code will be established based on the following criteria:
Once a player has competed in at least one pro-am for the season, their player code is determined by a rolling handicap of their most recent 10 pro-am scores only. The chart below outlines how the average is calculated based on a player's last 10 pro-am scores:

How to determine player categories for weekly team competition
To establish a fair, equal distribution of players in each category, thus creating a model where nearly all players are drawn on the same number of teams (one team), players will be grouped in player categories based on their rolling handicap for the pro-am series entering each tournament.
There will be three player categories: Gold, Silver and Bronze.
Example:
There are 120 amateurs playing in a pro-am.
40 of the players have a rolling average score of 5.5 or better.
40 of the players have a rolling average score of 5.6 - 10.7.
40 players have a rolling average score of 10.8 and above.
The players with a TGF Pro-Am handicap of 5.5 or better would be in the Gold category that week. The players with a handicap of 5.6 - 10.7 would be in the Silver category that week. The players with an average score of 82.8 and above would be in the bronze category that week. In this scenario, all 120 amateurs would be on one team.
The double-low ball team game blind draws one pro, one gold player, one silver player and one bronze player onto each team.
An individual’s player category may change each week based on the strength of the field.
Additional weekly player code guidelines:
Any player who shoots under par will automatically be bumped to the “Gold” category for the team game that week.
