NYC Pre-Professional Contemporary Intensive

August 12 – 23, 2024

Dear Dancers!

Welcome to the Joffrey Pre-professional Contemporary summer program! I am thrilled to have you join us for our two-week summer dance program in the vibrant city of New York. My name is Bradley Shelver, I am the artistic director of the Joffrey Concert Group and your artistic director for your 2 week program!  Get ready for an unforgettable journey filled with passion, creativity, and growth.

At Joffrey, we believe in fostering a supportive and inspiring environment where dancers of all levels can thrive.

Over the course of the next two weeks, you will have the opportunity to work with renowned dance instructors who will guide you through various modern and contemporary styles and techniques. You will have morning ballet class, and each teaching professional will expand your knowledge and push you to reach new heights. Our dedicated faculty members are committed to helping you develop your technique, artistic expression, and stage presence.

These sessions will equip you with valuable insights and skills to navigate your dance career successfully.

Beyond the dance studio, you will have the opportunity to explore the vibrant arts scene, visit local landmarks, and connect with fellow dancers who share your passion and dedication.

We encourage you to embrace this experience with an open mind and a willingness to challenge yourself. Dance is not just about the movements; it's about self-expression, discipline, and personal growth. We believe that this program will not only enhance your technical skills but also instill in you a deeper love and appreciation for the art of dance.

We look forward to embarking on this dance journey with you. Be prepared to sweat, laugh, and discover the dancer within you. Get ready for an incredible two weeks of intensive training, inspiration, and camaraderie.

Once again, welcome to our Joffrey Pre-Professional summer dance program! We can't wait to witness your talent unfold and see you shine on the dance floor.

Sincerely,

BRADLEY SHELVER

Artistic Director
