- Welcome from Principal Serin
- Safety Drills
- Completed Eight (8) Drills
- To date, we have conducted eight (8) emergency drills. We have conducted 6 evacuation drills and two (2) lock-down drills. We have 4 more emergency drills left. (2 soft lockdown and 2 evacuation)
- Drills must be completed unannounced to simulate a real evacuation.
- When the weather is above 32 degrees, we conduct fire drills.
- Focus on ELLs - ESL Teacher teaches a group of (beginning) students
- K-5 program. The focus is on standards that are low, based on iReady and HMH end-of-module assessments. Budget restrictions affected start time. AFter school programs will be targeted and strategic and will be based on: student needs, foundational skills, and test sophistication.
- We will also have a test sophistication program starting mid-January.
- In-House QCH & Residencies
QCH: Launched November 27, currently servicing almost 40 students, K-5
DANCEWAVE “Step” After-School Program: Launched December 7, Grades3&4
Marquis Studios (upcoming): Programs in Circus Arts (K & 1) & Music &
Rhythm (2 & 3)
- Excessive - Parents are arriving between 1:45-2:15 p.m.
- This is a safety concern during dismissal.
- Interrupts Instruction - There’s a phone call to the room, teacher has to stop teaching to pick up the call and assist with packing up child(ren).
- Good progress has been made compared to last year around this time!

- Penguin POWER Dollars - Rewards Program
- Attendance POWER Dollars
- SEL/Behavior - Students will be able to earn Penguin POWER Dollars to purchase rewards
- Monthly and weekly awards will be given to students.
- Parent Engagement/Partnership Events
- Title 1 parent engagement funds will be used to book Harlem Magic Masters in March 2024. This will be first come first serve. Perhaps having a limit of 3 people per family. The event will be held in the evening.
- Students will be allowed to leave the QCH after-school program to attend an in-house after school program and then return to QCH.
- January 10th Lunar New Year celebration
- PTA Annual Holiday sale on December 19 - 21st during lunch. Parents will be able to purchase items during lunch.
- The December Birthday Celebration did not occur today due to absences. It will be rescheduled this week.
