Half Term 1 -  Theme 4 - Global Business

Intent

What are we building on?

I may have been reading and watching the news over the summer holidays. I will have studied how to calculate percentage changes in KS4 Maths. (Most may have watched/read something relevant to the current affairs events that have occurred in the UK). All students will be familiar with extract based questions so this will be our focus this half term). Alongside this, I will be learning new linguistic terminology and expressions that will be prevalent throughout our study.

Theme 4: Global Business (this forms 25% of the overall A Level syllabus)

I will gain a holistic understanding of business in a range of contexts. I will develop a critical understanding of organisations and their ability to meet society’s needs and wants. This links to what I have studied in Theme 1 and 2 building on my prior knowledge. Theme 4 focuses on looking at Businesses from a global perspective and studying the strength of global markets and how businesses exploit global markets for expansion and additional revenue. I will synthesise my learning to develop a holistic understanding of business.

Half term 2: Theme 4 - Global Business environment

Intent

What are we building on?

All students will be familiar with extract based questions so this will be our focus this half term. Alongside this, I will be learning new linguistic terminology and expressions that will be prevalent throughout our study. I will be building on my knowledge of supply and demand in different markets and using this to calculate elasticities of demand. I will then link this with marketing strategies businesses use to anticipate and fulfil customer demand.
