Event: Runway in cursions

3. SITUATION: Bad weather, A/C missed taxiway.

JAL751/B767 was cleared to land on RWY11L, the A/C has landed and vacate RWY 11L via S2 but he missed the taxiway and entered the RWY 11R (the active RWY for departure). the Tower controller did not realize the situation because of the poor visibility. HVN224/B777 was cleared to line up runway 11R, at that time the captain of JAL751 informed tower controller that he has missed the taxiway and now on a RWY.

Requirements for test taker

Comprehend the information in the chart and traffic situation

Use ICAO standard RTF appropriately: Communicating with Pilots.

Use plain English: Coordinating with other ATC Units.

Interact appropriately with the situation:        

- Initiates, maintains exchanges even in unexpected events.

- Checks, confirms, clarifies misunderstandings

Requirements for interlocutor:

Refer the traffic situation in the chart, play the role of pilots in the scenario.

Use appropriate ICAO standard RTF.

Report the situation at suitable time.

Use plain English messages to check test taker’s comprehension.
