BASEBALL EVALUATIONS INFORMATION SHEET
Welcome to Monarch Little League Spring Season Baseball Evaluations! Evaluations are only for AAA, Majors, Intermediate 50/70, Juniors, and Seniors participants. The following is information regarding the format and requirements for today’s evaluations and what to expect after today.
STEP 1 – EVALUATIONS
Once you are registered and have received your name tag, you may proceed to the turf area to warm up. There are five (5) evaluation stations and you MUST participate in all five. You can do the stations in any order.
Once you have participated in all five evaluation stations you may leave and you do not need to check out.
STEP 2 – THE DRAFT
The draft for each division will be held later this week. Since it is a draft there are no team placement guarantees or teammate guarantees.
For AAA, all 10 and 11 year old players that register and evaluate for AAA are guaranteed a spot on a team by virtue of their age. We anticipate having a roster of 10-11 players per team at the AAA level. The remaining roster spots will go to the highest scoring players that registered and evaluated for AAA. Those that do not earn a spot on a AAA team are guaranteed a spot on a AA team (team/teammate requests will be accepted and accommodated to the extent possible for AA only).
For Majors, all 12 year old players that register and evaluate for Majors are guaranteed a spot on a team by virtue of their age. We anticipate having a roster of 10-11 players per team at the Majors level. The remaining roster spots will go to the highest scoring players that registered and evaluated for Majors. Those that do not earn a spot on a Majors team are guaranteed a spot on a AAA team.
For Intermediates, all 13 year old players that register and evaluate are guaranteed a spot by virtue of their age. Likewise, for Juniors, all 14-year-old players that register and evaluate are guaranteed a spot by virtue of their age. Same goes for 16 year old Seniors.
STEP 3 – ROSTERS
At the completion of the draft, rosters will be assigned based on the results of the draft. Rosters will be made public and available on the website no later than the end of the first week in March.
STEP 4 – COACH CONTACT / PRACTICES / GAMES
Once rosters have been made public, you can expect to hear from your coach by phone and/or email. Scheduled practices can begin (weather permitting) no earlier the first Monday of the 2nd week of March. Practice dates/times are dependent upon coach and field availability. Your first game will be at the Monarch Little League Opening Day Ceremonies at the Louisville Sports Complex. See the website for the specific date and more information.
STEP 5 – END OF SEASON TOURNAMENT AND ALL-STAR TEAM INFORMATION
There will be an end of the season tournament for AAA that will occur during the last week of May (after Memorial Day weekend) and first week of June. Please mark your calendars now. The kids really enjoy this end of season tournament and we will try to have a concluding "day at the park" celebration in conjunction with the conclusion of the tournament.
We are also working with fellow Interlock District 2 teams to try and have an end of the season tournament for the Majors, Intermediates, and Juniors division teams but no guarantees on this. Check the website for dates.
All-Star team tryouts will occur in mid-May. We will field one 10U team, one 11U team, and one 12U (Majors) team at minimum. Rosters will be made public in late May/early June and practices will begin shortly thereafter. If selected, you can expect to practice at least 3 times a week between early June through the first week in July. The District All-Star Tournament date takes place typically starting on July 5 and can last thru July 12. These tournaments are double elimination, and can take about a week to complete. There is the potential of advancing to the state, regional, and national tournaments from there, which would continue into August. See the website (www.monarchlittleleague.org) for more information.
