
- JUCO Selection Criteria
Junior College Singles and Doubles AUTOMATIC Qualifiers – 6 Singles and Doubles Regional Champions (Men), 7 Singles and Doubles Regional Champions (Women)
- Automatic qualifiers: The singles and doubles champions from each of the 6 (Men) or 7 (Women) regional championships shall receive automatic bids to the ITA Cup.
- In case of a decline from the Regional Champion: The runner-up from the regional tournament from which the winner declined the invitation will be first considered. If the runner-up declines, then the spot will convert to an at- large “regional finalist” selection.
Junior College Singles and Doubles AT-LARGE Selections – 2 (Men) or 1 (Women) Singles and Doubles At- Large Selections
- At-Large Selection Criteria – Regional Finalists: There are a minimum of 2 (Men) or 1 (Women) at-large selection(s) in singles and doubles. Selections will start from the pool of regional finalists by first considering current year regional performance, then previous year performance (end of year rankings). For first year players, seeding should consider performance against previous year performers (direct or indirect wins in the regional tournament or fall play). Finally consider Junior rankings such as ITF rankings, WTN ratings, Tennis Recruiting Rankings, USTA Standing. If this invitation is declined, then...
- At-Large Selection Criteria – Regional Semifinalists: The invitation will be given to a player(s) from the pool of regional semi-finalists from any ITA Regional Championship within that Division, who has been selected by the Divisional Committee. - At-Large Selection Criteria – Highest Participating Ranking: The invitation will be given to the next highest ranked player or “intact” doubles team from last year’s final rankings, who also participated in the current year’s ITA Regional Championship. If this player(s) also declines, then...
- At-Large Selection Criteria – Committee Discretion: The invitation will be given to the player(s) who has been selected by the Divisional Committee.
Note: Coaches must submit to the ITA the names of all players they would like considered for ITA Cup at- large selections. Players will no longer be automatically considered.
