WHAT IS GENERATOR? Generator is a combination of business incubator, artist studio, and classroom at the intersection of art, science, and technology. We provide the tools, expertise, education, and opportunity to enable all members of our community to create, collaborate, and bring ideas to fruition. Generator has over 400 maker-members and our programs engage over 2,000 individuals per year in Burlington, Chittenden County and beyond.

WHAT ARE WE LOOKING FOR IN A FRONT DESK VOLUNTEER? Front Desk Volunteers cultivate a warm and welcoming environment at Generator by greeting members and guests with a positive and energetic attitude. They help members and guests navigate systems, policies, and procedures at Generator. They also perform cleaning, organizing, and administrative tasks to support Generator’s safe and efficient operation.

Starting in July 2020, Generator is specifically seeking Front Desk Volunteers to oversee a new check-in process that will occur at the front desk. Front Desk Volunteers will ensure that every person entering Generator has their temperature taken with a contactless thermometer, makes an entry into our check-in logbook, and is wearing the required PPE. Front Desk Volunteers will be trained and supported in this process, which will likely be adjusted regularly as Generator moves through the multiple reopening phases.
