Franklin Logan Ping

    Franklin Logan Ping passed into the arms of the Lord on Monday, October 16, 2017 at his residence. Frank died after a short battle with lung cancer. Frank was the son of Carl Ping and Delia Koontz Ping. Frank was born in Bloomington June 11 1931. Frank married Janet Faye Waldrip and they were married 66 years. His wife survives him.

    He served his country honorably in the U.S. Navy. He was employed as delivery driver for Pepsi and Mothers Cookies, Allisons, stone mills, drove a school bus for MCCSC, and was self-employed as a home building contractor before retirement. He was one of the founders and a long-time board member of Van Buren Water Company.

    Frank was preceded in death by his parents and a half brother, Leonard Dillman.

    Frank is survived by his son, Marc Ping (Mary) Bloomington, Indiana; his daughters, Teresa Ping, Bloomington, Indiana, Anita Kinser, Floral City, Florida, Julie Nieves (Ron), Orlando, Florida; grandchildren, Christina Owen, Shannon Blackwell, Casey Kinser, Logan Nieves, Cole Nieves, Joshua Brown; great grandchildren, Taylor Ping, Morgan Blackwell, Nathan Owen, Connor Owen, Jayden Blackwell, Kade Cornish, Jace Cornish; and great-great granddaughter, Ava Grace Rinnert. Also surviving are his brothers Robert Ping (Juanita) and Richard Ping (Rhett).

    Special thanks to Marc Ping, Christina Owen and Southern Care Hospice for their loving care during Frank's final days at home.

    Cremation rites have been accorded by Indiana Green Burials. At the family's request, there will be no funeral service or visitation.
