Maxflate FJ80/FZJ80 Aux AC Fan Kit Install Instructions
Kit contains:
- 1 100 Series Landcruiser Fan
- 1 Fan wiring bundle
- Fuse tap is installed onto this harness and needs to be removed prior to fishing wire into cab
- 1 3d printed Fan bracket
- 1 Metal Horn bracket replacement
- 1 Bag of hardware and bushings
- 2 10mm short bolts
- 2 10mm long fan bolts
- 2 13mm horn bracket bolts
- 4 metal washers
- 2 3d printed lower bushings
- 2 3d printed fan bolt bushings


Please ensure all parts listed above are included in the box and contact Maxflate if anything is missing.
In addition to the kit above you will need the following tools:
- 10mm socket
- 12mm socket
- 13mm socket
- Phillips head screw driver
- Metal coat hanger or 4 feet of solid core wire
- Electrical tape - for fishing wire through grommet
- Angled picks - Harbor Freight has a good set for cheap
**** Installation of this fan kit is made as simply as I felt it could be but like anything involving electricity there is a risk of shock, if you do not feel comfortable installing this fan please have it installed by a qualified mechanic. Do this install at your own risk****
Install instructions:
- Disconnect Negative and Positive Battery terminals
- Remove 5 phillips heads screws from grille
- Disconnect and remove horns - save horn mounting bolts as they will be reused and remove horn bracket




- Loose trans cooler lower bolt - do not remove

- Slide Large fan bracket between cooler and brace, then install the short 10mm bolt through bracket into AC condenser mount on passenger side



- 13mm bolt with spacers through Metal top bracket


- Slide square mounting feet onto fan bracket, thick side towards front of vehicle/bumper


- Slide fan down onto feet and slide fan washer mounts into fan locations, then install Long 10mm bolts through washer mounts


- Bolt horns back on using existing horn bolts and plug Horns back in


- Run fan plug wiring behind headlight on drivers side and plug in fan




- Locate AC temp switch behind drivers side headlight and Unplug the connector. Then remove 2 rubber seals


- Pull White connector lock up from middle of connector

- Clip in wire with ground loop into Left side of picture from step 11

- Clip in wire from relay into Right side side of picture from step 11, once complete push middle white lock back into place

- Run wire with Flag terminal up to bulkhead seal - remove Fuse tap prior to fishing wire - use electrical tape and solid core wire/coat hanger to pull through bulkhead seal




- Loosen fuse box by removing 2 phillips screws and run wire up next to fuse box.


- locate Cig fuse or other key on fuse then install fuse tap on to fuse



- Reinstall Fuse block screws and reinstall removed fuse - this will make installing the fuse back into the fuse block more difficult it is a tight fit

- Bolt relay spacer and ground wires to above factory ground



- Connect relay to battery power and reconnect battery Positive then Negative

- Turn on AC and ensure operation - Note: fan will not come on with key on, it will wait until the AC system pressure hits 220 psi then turn off around 180 psi, so if it is a cooler day outside the fan will not turn on at all.
- Reinstall 5 phillips heads for grille
- Enjoy!
