  1. New Business
  1. The owner of the hyperefficient home now being built on Eastern Ave NE contacted Adam to let us know that he is willing to lead tours of the home for neighborhood residents. He is considering August 14 or August 27. Adam plans to reach back out to ask if he might consider August 17 (the day after Party in the Park) instead, which would give us a chance to publicize the tours at our event.
  1. Reports
  1. Arts Subcommittee
  1. Samantha Thyme (chair) not present; no report
  1. Parks Subcommittee
  1. Scott is still concerned about the lack of attention being paid by the City to the Gulch, and in particular, Eastern Park. Alison suggested ‘resurrecting’ the Google form we created years ago allowing residents to submit observations, questions, complaints, etc., and blast it again on social media in hopes of generating some community feedback. Justin said ICCF volunteers are making slow but steady progress at Eastern and that he had recently noted a load of mulch / wood chips left in a parking space adjacent the park.
  1. Treasurer
  1. Paypal Balance: $23.64
  2. MFCU balance: $385.31
  3. Outstanding payments: $348 (insurance)
  4. Balance: $60.95
  5. Corina not present, no report. Adam noted that our funds continue to dwindle and that we urgently need to find ways to raise money in order to support our yearly ‘existence’ budget (necessities such as insurance and website fees) of ~$500. Scott suggested talking to nearby restaurants, including Vitale’s and Carlucci’s, to ask if they would consider donating a portion of profits if we encourage the neighborhood to come out on certain evenings. Adam said HPNA used to do this at Flatlanders, and said he would speak with Taco Borracho about hosting our Annual Meeting there in October. Alison suggested contacting 7 Monks too.
  1. Discussion
  1. Party in the Park Planning
  1. Promotion
  1. Adam printed 11x17 yard sign flyers; Alison will laminate. Scott said that it should be helpful to cross-post with the bike polo club, boulder wall group, etc. on IG to spread the word about our event. Alison said she would try to do the same on Fb.
  1. Raffle Application
  1. Adam learned that we cannot technically hold a raffle as we are not a federal nonprofit, so we will have to get creative… Alison wondered if we could use a ‘suggested donation’ / giveaway approach. Scott said he plans to use the microphone to broadcast an ask for support. Alison said she would create and donate custom cocktail napkins displaying the QR code to the website donations page
  1. Short link: https://bit.ly/4eD1afX
  1. Link to PitP event page on HPNA website (Adam created)
  1. Vendor / Group tables
  1. Scott said Liz is still working on lining up vendors. He has learned that Switchback Gear Exchange (bike shop) will have a tent set up over by the bike polo tournament.
  1. Games
  2. Information
  1. The group agreed HPNA will contribute popsicles. (Two food trucks will be providing hot food.) Lea said she thought Life Cycle Property Management (where she works) would be willing to donate the popsicles and that she would speak with the owner. Scott is donating to pay the musicians.
