Fremont International Academy

Assessment Policy

At Fremont International Academy, assessments are used as a tool to identify and understand the needs of all learners. Summative and formative assessments are both used to assess student learning. All stakeholders (students, teachers, and families) work in collaboration with one another to promote student growth and learning which is reported out on a regular basis. Students become invested by learning to take ownership of creating their own goals and evaluating their academic progress.

The process of assessment is a continuous cycle where each stage is informed by the results of the previous cycle. Based on the results, adjustments are made to determine next instructional steps and how to support students going forward. Students are given both oral and written feedback, which can happen in a group or individual setting. This feedback plays a vital role in academic achievement and allows each student to see his or her growth and reach their full potential.
