Education:

  • B.S. Mathematics and Mathematics Education, North Dakota State University

Goals as MCTM Region 4 Director:

Throughout my teaching career I have looked to organizations like MCTM to grow as an educator. Attending several of the MCTM Spring Conferences and two NCTM conferences has given me the opportunity to learn new strategies and gain insights on helping students grow as mathematical thinkers. Our culture of teaching mathematics is shifting in the best way possible: helping students grow a positive mindset on their identity as mathematicians. As a Region Director, I hope to plan and support opportunities for teachers to gain from new learning and/or to reflect and grow from experiences implementing new methods. We are all brilliant thinkers and one of the joys of being a math teacher is having genuine discussion about our ideas and learning.
