Which providers are offering internet specials?

Comcast / Xfinity is offering internet access from Xfinity for $9.99 per month with no contracts. It appears that there is a possibility of two free months of service. Visit https://internetessentials.com/ 

What if I tried to apply online but am having trouble submitting my application?

If you encounter the following issues when submitting an online application, please call 1-855-8-INTERNET (1-855-846-8376) for assistance from one of their agents if:

·        It says my address is invalid

·        I already have an existing application

·        I am unable to complete my application online

·        The web page freezes up / I got stuck on a page

Hours of operation are from 8 AM to Midnight (EST), seven days a week.

How will this affect my class rank as a senior?

Final class rank for seniors is determined at the end of the 3rd grading period. As school is currently closed, we cannot run class rank until all grades have been finalized.  As such, this has yet to be determined.

How will this affect my class rank for other high school students?  

Grades 9-11 class ranks are calculated at the end of each semester. Without knowing the scope of the school closure, we cannot address this at this time. We are awaiting guidance from TEA as to how high schools are to address grading and course credits.

Who do I contact if my child's Chromebook does not work?

        You can call your campus directly or contact the helpline at 281.252.7474.

Am I getting a grade for my work?

Grades are not being taken. However, teachers will be providing feedback and guidance for student learning. We are providing these digital resources for students so they can continue to learn and prepare for the next grade level and/or college.

What about STAAR Testing?

On March 16, 2020, Governor Abbott waived all STAAR testing requirements for the spring test administration in 2020.

Special education guidelines will be provided the week of March 23.

How do I get a Verification of Enrollment (VOE) for my student?

        Verification of Enrollments are issued by the campus, signed by campus administration

and are time-sensitive (30 days). Since our campuses are closed, we recommend you contact your local Department of Public Safety Office to ensure they are issuing licenses at this time. If your local DMV is open, please contact your campus principal.

What about AP testing?

College Board has recently released a statement that AP exams will take place in the coming months through an online platform that covers a reduced scope of content. They are adjusting their curriculum expectations and Magnolia ISD teachers will prepare student learning plans in Canvas that align with the changes to best prepare students for their AP Exams. College Board stated that more details about testing will be provided by April 3.

Our AP teachers will continue to provide targeted instruction through their Student Learning Plans to help our students be successful on these newly structured exams.

What about IB testing?

The International Baccalaureate Organization has announced that the May examinations for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme and Career-related Programme will not be held this year due to the COVID-19 (Cornoavirus) pandemic. Click here to read the full letter.
