What is matter? Matter  is everything. Matter takes up space called molecules. Some of them move freely but some of them don't move slowly and not freely. Here are the states of matter.

 Firstly solids are things that stay their shape. Ice is a solid. A solids shape can change but it will still be a solid like if you cut a piece of paper.

Secondly liquid is something that does not keep its shape and flows and moves.  Water is a liquid. Liquids take the shape of  whatever they are tipped in.

Thirdly gas is what we breath in and out from our lungs.  Air is a type of gas and so is helium.
