Next Wednesday, students in grades 9-12 are invited to participate in the Vermont Math Contest.  This will take place in Ms. Aldridge's room from 8:30am-10:30am.  Any students interested in participating should see Ms. Aldridge by this Friday so that enough materials are available.  There are great prizes for the top 10 participants in the state and the top student in the school will be recognized.

Staff and Students: please consider helping out at the annual Men’s Tournament on Friday, March 16th, Sat. March 17th and Sun, March 18th.  There is a sign up sheet on the bulletin board outside the office. We need help in the kitchen, at the door, running the clock, and keeping the scorebook.  This is great community service hours for those of you in Key Club or NHS. Please sign up on the sheet. Thank you in advance for any help you are able to give that weekend.


Girls in grades 3-5, we hope you register for Girls on the Run. The first practice is 3/19.

This is such a great, empowering program that uses running to educate girls and give them the opportunity to build confidence, healthy habits, recognize their inner strength, learn to respect one another, understand what it means to be a part of a community, celebrate what makes them unique and SO much more!  Parents, if you have any questions or need assistance registering contact Mrs. Clogston or Mrs. Berry.

The Class of 2023 is raffling off two Easter Baskets filled with some "egg-citing" goodies, including candy, ITunes gift cards, toys, a mystery egg and much more! Stop by the library to check the baskets out! Tickets are $1 each or $5 for 6 tickets. Please see a 7th grader for more information or if you are interested in purchasing a raffle ticket. The drawing will be held on Thursday, March 29th. Thank you in advance for your support!


The scheduling meetings planned for before vacation have been rescheduled for this Thursday and Friday.  Please make sure you attend so you can learn about the course request process, obtain a program of studies, review changes to it and begin discussing and thinking about courses for next year.  These meetings will take place during WIN in the library.  Arrive on time, as time is limited.

Students who participated in the CT River Collaborative last semester (took classes at PHS or CA) should check their email.  You were sent a google survey regarding your experiences.  Thank you in advance for taking the time to respond.  Your thoughts are very important to all three area schools as we plan ahead for how to best support your academic needs and interests.  Please submit your survey responses by Friday, 3/16.


Any boy or girl in grades 8-12 that is interested in playing varsity baseball or softball this spring should sign up on the bulletin board by the gym by this Friday, March 9.  Spring practices will begin March 19.


A representative from the Northwoods Stewardship Center will be in the library during 1st WIN on Thursday, 3/15 to talk about their programs and summer employment opportunities.  Any interested students who are at least 15 should attend.


Canaan will be hosting a donkey ball tournament this Friday, March 9th @ 6 pm.   Two boys and two girls will be chosen to play on the student teams.   Tickets for the drawing cost $1 (maximum two tickets per student).  You can enter the drawing during lunch on Friday, Feb. 23rd.  Spectator tickets will also be available for anyone interested for at a discounted price of $10 for any students or teachers.  Join the fun!


HOT LUNCH:  Dress your own dog, garden pasta salad, fresh fruit and veggie bar and milk.

Friday’s hot lunch:  BBQ pork sandwich, creamy coleslaw, fresh fruit and veggie bar and milk.
