Upload onto our online form your typed proposal including the following information:

Description of the Plan of Study:

Provide a course description that explains what you will accomplish during the course. Explain how this course will be modified to meet the standards of an honors-level course by describing in detail what you will do and learn that other students in the course will not. This description may include information on the additional topic(s) or problem(s) to be examined and what is to be gained from this supplementary coursework.

Evidence of Honors-Caliber Work to be Presented:

Include a detailed outline of additional coursework to be completed, such as written assignments, research, online journaling, individual presentations, etc.

Submit an honors version of the course syllabus that has been revised to show how each additional assignment will be calculated into your final grade (i.e. percentages, such as 10% or 20% of the overall course grade).

***Make sure to highlight all of the changes to the syllabus in red***

Scheduled Meeting Time(s):

Indicate how often and how much time will be scheduled to meet with the instructor individually to ensure that class participation and coursework is of honors caliber (e.g., MWF 11-11:50 a.m.).

NOTE: The proposal should be written by the student (not the instructor) in first-person narrative and uploaded to this form.

Approval Process:

After the online submission of your proposal to the online form, the Honors College Academic Affairs Coordinator will contact the affiliated instructor to get their approval. Once the proposal is reviewed, you will receive an email from the Academic Affairs Coordinator notifying you of its acceptance or denial. If it is denied, the Academic Affairs Coordinator will make suggested corrections for you to resubmit the proposal.
