Move In Day
August 13 from 1 - 7 PM
Schedules and information will not be available before 8/13 at 1:00, but arrangements can be made to pick up items after 8/13. Doors will not open until 1 PM on the 13th.
In order to get your schedule and Chromebook, the student's FINAL FORMS must be completed. Parents must sign ALL the forms each year.

Student Chromebooks
Students who attend Move In Day will receive their Chromebook. Otherwise, students will receive their Chromebook on the first day of school.
Students are expected to keep the same Chromebook for all 3 years of middle school. Damages to Chromebooks are charged to the student's fee account.
Parents are encouraged to get a protective cover for the Chromebook. It is best to wait until you know exactly what model to get a cover for.
HMS collects the student's Chromebooks at the end of each year and redistributes them on Move In Day.

Welcome, Incoming 6th Graders
We are looking forward to our newest group of middle schoolers coming to us next year. A parent orientation led by Mr. Henry and Mrs. Boytim was held on May 15. You can access the orientation slides here.
6th Grade First Day
August 19. The first day of school is for 6th graders ONLY. The students will spend the day learning about the middle school and will meet all of their teachers.
6th Grade Outdoor Education Experience
On September 24 and 25, 2025, Highland Middle School 6th graders will travel to Camp Wanake in Brewster, Ohio, for our Outdoor Education Experience. We will be participating in an extended day program with no overnight stay.
We will leave each day at 7:45 and will return each evening by 6 P.M.

Transportation
Please check your student(s) PowerSchool transportation tab beginning August 11, 2025, for bus assignments.

Athletic Physical Form
Students wishing to participate in a school 7th or 8th grade sport must have a physical form completed to begin practice.
Lunch Menu
Breakfast (Middle and High) and lunch will still be available to all students; however, they will not be free to all students. This means that families will need to complete the Free and Reduced-price Family Application in Final Forms to qualify for free or reduced-price meals. Students who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals must pay full price for breakfast and lunch.

HIGHLAND COMMUNITY EDUCATION NEWS
Highland Community Education has several exciting classes both new and returning for Fall of 2025! We will be offering the very popular in-person elementary after school classes - Mad Science, Crayola Arts Academy and Engineering. Join us on Saturday mornings for our exciting Future Fashion Stars or our new Perfectly Polite Dining Etiquette or fun-filled Princess Party/Superhero Party for Good Manners! Saturday morning options also include Safe Sitters Babysitting, a new Family Fairy Garden, Fundamentals of Cooking, KidzSafety and Young Rembrandts Drawing - all Saturday morning classes are held at Highland High School. Hummingbirds Soccer and Hoop Stars/Little Hoop Stars will again be offered for our little ones this fall on Saturday afternoons behind the Granger Fire Department. Our High School students have the opportunity to enroll in our ACT and SAT Test Preparation classes during the school day ALL period! Adults can also sign up for Retirement Planning and Stop Smoking or Weight Loss seminars. A detailed brochure and registration form is posted on the Highland website - www.highlandschools.org.
Evening and Saturday classes are not restricted to Highland residents.
