Rhythm & Rhyme

Showcase Spring 2019

REMINDERS

The spring showcase is quickly approaching, and we couldn’t be more excited for the performance.

This letter will provide you with all the information you will need - most of this is the same information you got with your recital contract, but we have added costume info and show orders.  We know that there is a lot of information here, but it is all important.  Please save this letter in a safe place until the show is over, as you will want to refer as the recital nears. If you have any questions about the show, please email the studio

The following classes will perform in the Performing Arts Showcase:

Beginning Broadway

Int/Adv Broadway

Beg/Int Voice

        Adv Voice

Broadway Company

Private Voice Lessons - Ashby Remak, Pepper King

Musical Theater Jazz

Musical Theater Contemporary

LOCATION: Mary Silveira Elementary School, 375 Blackstone Drive, San Rafael, CA 94903

DRESS REHEARSAL DATE:  Friday, May 17th, 4:00pm - 7:30pm (see specific times below)

4:00 - 4:45pm: Musical Theater Jazz and Contemporary (no junior company as previously listed)

5:45 - 6:30pm: Adv Voice

You’ll notice these times overlap a little.  That is because we want to leave a little extra time for some classes that may need a little extra vs. others that may need a little less.

PERFORMANCE DATE:  Saturday, May 18th at 6pm

There will be one performance at 6pm.  We expect the show to last around an hour and a half.

PERFORMANCE DAY SCHEDULE: Saturday, May 18th

4:45: All Other Performers Arrive

                5:45: Doors Open

6:00-7:30: SHOWTIME!

7:30: Performers are excused after cleaning up

TICKETS:

Tickets can be purchased online or at the door the day of the show.  We will not sell any tickets at the studio.  General admission is $10.  Tickets may be purchased online beginning on May 13th using this link:  https://rhythmsperformingarts.thundertix.com.  This link will not be working until May 13th.

We don’t anticipate having a problem with tickets, there are plenty of seats at Mary Silveira.  The doors will open 15 minutes before show time; parents will not be allowed into the theater prior to doors opening, so saving seats before that time will not be allowed.

COSTUMES, HAIR AND MAKEUP:

Students will be borrowing costumes and accessories from the studio.  There may be some items that each individual class will need to provide like a basic black outfit or a nice dress.  Hair must be neat and worn away from the face.  Makeup is up to the individual.  Ask your teacher for any special instructions as we get closer to performance time.

Items in bold are ones that you should provide.  Items not in bold are provided by Rhythms.

Beginning Broadway - pink top, black or gold skirt, your own black shorts or black leggings to wear under skirt, tan jazz shoes, hair in a ponytail

Int/Adv Broadway - GIRLS - green dress, your own black shorts to wear under, tan tights, tan jazz shoes, hair in high ponytail.  BOYS - your own black pants, your own black dress shirt, black shoes (dress shoes or jazz shoes preferred), green tie

PARENT VOLUNTEERS:

Parents of performing arts students are not required to volunteer.  However, we can always use extra help!  If you’d like to volunteer, the link to volunteer site is http://signup.com/go/WezNRK.

We’d also love some baked goods for the refreshment table.  If you would like to bring a baked good, here is the link to sign up.  We need all baked goods delivered to Mary Silviera by 10am or brought over the night before.
