2021 Board Meeting Work Plan
There ties for three positions:
- Alyson Lighthart
- Jessica Engilke (could support more volunteer efforts for AAWCC)
- Amber Hicks (was a conference scholarship recipient and did not show)
- Samantha Piers-VanderPloeg
- Heidi VanBrocklin
- Jeri Reed
- The need to recreate Planning Committees for Fall and Summer Conferences was discussed - This could lead to new AAWCC Board Members in the future.
- VP of Communications: Communication could focus on Newsletter, and Communication Drafting (based on talking points) and then possibly have another position to support Social Media and Marketing.
- With co-Leads, they could also decide which role(s) align best with their strengths and what they are most interested in.
- We could include a role conversation at the upcoming AAWCC Retreat, when that is held.
- Teri Olsen will reach out to nominees to assess their interest in joining the Board.
- AAWCC National Board Update
- Teri shared the membership report that the AAWCC State Board had put together, including information on which Colleges we are paying memberships for. PCC, Lane, and Chemeketa are the only three institutions that currently pay their own memberships.
- She got three emails back with what was wrong with the report - Lynn requested to be put into contact with the Regional Contact. There may not have been someone who ran for the Regional role, so someone from another region is supporting.
- Kristina got emails re: scholarships for Women in Community Colleges.
