THE EXPERIENCE

What is the show about?

Planet Earth III Live In Concert is an orchestral arena musical experience featuring breathtaking footage from the latest sensational television series produced by the award-winning BBC Studios Natural History Unit. Specially selected footage is showcased in 4K Ultra High Definition on a giant LED screen, accompanied by the exhilarating music of Hans Zimmer, Jacob Shea, and Sarah Barone for Bleeding Fingers Music, performed by the renowned City of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra.

Who composed the music?

Oscar-winning composer Hans Zimmer, along with Jacob Shea and Sara Barone from Bleeding Fingers Music, composed the music for the Planet Earth III TV series.

Which orchestra will perform the music live for the Planet Earth III recordings?

The orchestra is called The City Of Prague Philharmonic Orchestra. It is a classical orchestra predominantly composed of Czech classical, jazz, and guest musicians who work at the State Opera and the Czech National Theatre.

The history of the orchestra dates back to the Film Symphony Orchestra (FISYO), which was founded shortly after World War II in 1947 as the in-house orchestra of the major Barrandov Film Studios. After its spin-off and complete privatization, it initially performed under the name Czech Symphony Orchestra but faced issues with other Czech ensembles unlawfully using the name. In 1992, following the Velvet Revolution, music producer James Fitzpatrick proposed the current name.

The orchestra comprises musicians from the State Opera and the Czech National Theatre, and most of their concerts take place at the opera house.

How long does the show last?
