ACrew4U - COVID-19 production & shoot guidelines (8 oct 2020)
Overall guidelines
Pre-production:
- All crew must confirm that they haven’t been knowingly in contact with someone with COVID-19 symptoms for the 14 days prior.
- All crew will need to be asked to complete a questionnaire to confirm that they are not considered vulnerable or at high risk
- Public transport should only be used when safe to do so
- Any crew feeling ill must stay at home
- All kit will need to be wiped down before and after the shoot with disinfectant (EPA-registered household disinfectants should be effective, or diluted household bleach solutions/alcohol solutions with at least 70% alcohol https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/cleaning-disinfection.html)
- All petty cash should be provided as bank transfer - no cash should be exchanged
- Hire vehicle should be wiped down before and after each use (steering wheel, door handles, stick, etc)
- Crew will be warned that if anyone is acting in an irresponsible manner they will be asked to leave set immediately
- Casting wherever possible should be conducted by self-tapes or zoom interviews
Production:
- All crew / cast / client should have their temperature checks on set before the shoot
- Call times should be staggered wherever possible to avoid congestion
- The crew and client attendance should be kept as small as possible
- All crew must use latex gloves, a facemask and will wash their hands regularly
- All door handles / kit will need to be wiped down before a shoot with disinfectant
- Shoes must also be wiped down before entering / exiting premises or vehicles
- We will avoid using clip mics and will use booms / hand mics only. All mics will be washed (black sponge) with disinfectants before and after each interview
- The following must be added to camera bag and must be available on all shoots: latex gloves, masks, hand sanitiser, wipes, and kit to clean hands
- Crew must not purchase food / drinks from outside a locked down facility / outside a hospital, etc
- Crew must avoid touching their face and will be required to wash their hands regularly
- At all times everyone on set must maintain social distancing wherever possible - 2 meters apart
- If crew start to feel ill on the shoot they must be released immediately to go home
- All kit will need to be wiped down before and after the shoot with disinfectant
- All petty cash should be provided as card - no cash should be exchanged
- All phones & devices should be regularly wiped with disinfectant
- Hire vehicles should be wiped down before and after each use (steering wheel, door handles, stick, etc)
- All crew will be required to adhere to any additional health & safety guidance or notices given on the day
- Any crew acting in an irresponsible manner they will be asked to leave set immediately
- Food should only be provided as individual portions, or crew will be given per diems to provide their own food
- Crew should have individual bottles to consume water (own use only & clearly marked)
- All crew should follow all safety guidelines in addition by local government if applicable
Talent:
- Wherever possible talent should do their own make-up / hair / wardrobe
- Creatives where social distancing is not possible should be reviewed and adapted if possible
- Where social distancing is not achievable by the talent because of the creative, talent from the same household should be considered
Crew staying in hotel rooms:
- Crew must wipe down door handles, TV remotes, surfaces, toilet seat, basin, etc
- Crew must make sure they have provisions for food kept in their room/on their person as to avoid eating in hotel restaurants / cafes / bars / etc although take away food is acceptable
Post-production:
- All drives must be continuously wiped with disinfectant as they are passed between producers & post production
- Where possible all VOs should be recorded on Skype
- Where this is not possible, all VO record equipment must be fully disinfected before and after a VO record
- All editors must clean all of their kit (keyboards, etc) with disinfectant
