Dear Parents,

Feed My Starving Children Mobile-Pack Event - Friday, October 20. Permission slips and informational letters were sent home last Friday.  Please return permission slips by this Friday, October 13. We are officially registered for this event, and we are looking forward to a great day of service with your child. You may visit www.fmsc.org for more information about the event.

Fall Picture Retakes - Tuesday, October 24

Parent/Teacher Conferences - Thursday & Friday, October 26-27

First quarter ends on October 20 - this means conference time is coming soon, and we are really looking forward to meeting with you. Please click HERE to schedule a time to meet with us to confer about your child’s progress through the 1st quarter.  

Just a reminder -  Thursday, October 26, is a minimum day and students will be dismissed at 12:00 P.M. On Friday, October 27, there will be no school. Daycare is still available for both days.

THIS WEEK:

Bible (Mr. Ortiz):

We will be starting our lesson on “Three Important Firsts” discussing three important first events of Christ’s ministry. The scripture quiz for this week will be John 1:13-14. There will be a quiz on Friday.

English (Mrs. Johnson):

In English, students will continue to study pronoun usage. In literature, we will continue our study of character within literature as we read the first five chapters of Treasure Island.

Math:

Geometry (Mrs. Daniel): Students will complete Lessons 29-30 and Investigation #3.  Students will also complete Cumulative Test #5 (open book) on Thursday/Friday.  *Geometry students need a graphing calculator.

Algebra I (Mrs. Daniel): Students will complete Lessons 29-30 and Investigation #3.  Students will also complete Cumulative Test #5 (open book) on Thursday/Friday.  *Algebra students need a scientific calculator.

Pre-Algebra (Mr. Burris): We will begin Lessons 22-25 and reviewing for the next test.

*Students who score a C or lower on any assignment or test must do corrections by the next test date.

Foreign Language :

Students are expected to work independently on their foreign language class.  Please frequently check their progress to ensure they are keeping on track.  Also, please encourage them to share what they are learning!

Science (Mrs. Daniel):

Students will finish Chapter 4 and take an open book/open note test on Thursday-Friday.  Students will start Chapter 5, “Dynamics: Why Things Move,” on Friday.

Music (Dr. Muntean):

Students are preparing for their christmas ensemble piece.
