The Swan to the Black Bear
Distance - 3.2 miles Approximate Time - 1 hour 15 minutes Includes stiles, roads and livestock
Park at The Swan and walk across the road and up to Marbury Church. Go through the stile and follow the path down towards the woodland.
Cross over the stiles and through the woodland and bear left across this field towards the stile in the top left corner - this can be waterlogged so be careful!
Across the stile bear diagonally towards the mid-left of the field and find the stile. Head straight across the field. Over next stile bear right up to the top of the field.
Follow footpath arrows over the stile, across the field and over the next - don’t forget to look back at the stunning views!
Follow the sign for Whitchurch across the field and down, you should be able to see the caravan park directly ahead. Follow footpath stiles in fields and bear right along the caravan park; there is a small stile to the far right of the park.
Through the stile, you will come out on Mile Bank Rd. Turn right and walk along this road for roughly 20 minutes until you come to the crossroads. Head straight across the road. At the next junction turn right.
The Black Bear should be on your left. Stop and enjoy a nice cold pint!
