Educational Options

Per section 118.57 of Wisconsin State Statutes, school districts are required to annually notify parents of the educational options available to children who reside in the school district.

Some of the specific education programs offered to eligible students who are enrolled in and attending the District’s schools include:

Educational options for students enrolled in the SDNB that involve part-time attendance at an educational institution other than an SDNB school include:

• Part-time Open Enrollment: https://dpi.wi.gov/open-enrollment/ptoe

• Provides high school students the opportunity to apply for approval to take up to two (2) courses at a time at another Wisconsin K-12 school district.

• Early College Credit Program and Start College Now Program (summer deadline of February 1 and fall deadline of March 1) https://www.nbexcellence.org/district/course-registration.cfm

• Provides high school students the opportunity to apply for approval to take courses at certain institutions of higher education.

• Provides students in grades 11 & 12 the opportunity to apply for approval to take courses at certain Wisconsin Technical Colleges.

Educational options for children who reside in the SDNB that involve full-time enrollment attendance at a school, program or other educational institution that is not an SDNB school include:

• Physical attendance in a public school of a nonresident district or attendance through a virtual charter school associated with a nonresident public school district.

• Enrollment in a private or parochial school of the family’s choosing (at the family’s expense, if applicable). Private/parochial schools within the SDNB boundaries:

Educational options for children who reside in the SDNB but who are enrolled in and attending a private school or home-based private educational program include:
