Happy Hispanic Heritage Month
Did you know… The national observation of Hispanic Heritage month began in 1968 as Hispanic Heritage Week under President Lyndon Johnson and was expanded by President Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-day period starting September 15 and ending October 15 of each year.  This year’s theme, “Pioneers of Change: Shaping the Future Together,” encapsulates the spirit of innovation, resilience, and unity that define Hispanic experience. As Yvette Delgado, Senior Diversity and Inclusion Specialist in the Office of Minority and Women Inclusion at the Federal Housing Finance Agency said, “The theme recognizes all the Hispanics/Latinos who have been trailblazers and game changers; paving the way for future generations.”

S/O to our Girls Soccer team for destroying William Blount 5-2.  Lexi Macejewski was on fire scoring all 5 goals, which leads me to a fire safety announcement.

Please Listen Carefully for this important announcement on Fire Safety at home A fire can break out with little or no warning. The more prepared you are, the safer you will be.

  1. Smoke detectors should be located on every floor of your home and near all places that you and your family sleep.
  1. Smoke detector batteries should be changed on a regular basis.
  1. Test your smoke detectors every month to ensure their effectiveness.

Remember- Once you are out, stay out! Never go inside a burning building. Attempting to go back to retrieve something or someone may be fatal. Fire fighters will come to rescue anybody needing help.  Thank you for your attention, and remember, Be Wise, Save a Life!
