Principal’s Update: Mighty Network to add English Learner parent group - Sra. Dunn will request SIPAT moderator to add group.

Marguerite Montgomery sends a text version via REMIND, a district-supported platform that texts in preferred language. Expanding to all schools.
April 26 Ethnic Studies Forum sponsored by SIPAT, see registration link in Lobos News.
SIPAT provided welcome back to school bags translated into preferred language.
Sra. Dunn and Counselor Flores making calls to Spanish speaking families. Conducting kinder, first grade and new student tours. All Spanish speaking and EL families are invited to join. New Student tour, interpretation available, going to kinder in person, will get intro tour with older siblings, also welcome videos in English and Spanish.
EL and unduplicated students participating in Sports for Learning, Dance and Running Club, third of participant spaces reserved for these families. Going well.
ELAC Ad-hoc March 2 meeting was held to discuss needs assessment.
Sebastian, ELAC president, moved to different school.
Ann Buggy motioned to approve March 2 minutes. Motion seconded by Ana Quinonez. Motions passed, notes approved.
EL Specialist Update (Ann Buggy): meeting with small groups. Testing 27 students, 18 completed, 5 partially completed, will compete by mid-April. Works all day Wednesday and Thursday. Administering English Learner Proficiency Test. Administer annually but missed last year, so first time in two years. Might hold EL ceremony in the fall with re-classified students. They receive a medal and certificate. Important event.
CCE School Site Council Budget
Preliminary Proposed budget proposed in spring. LCAP base is three times supplemental fund base of $35/student.
Unduplicated students include EL, foster youth, homeless, social and economically disadvantaged. Funds should be utilized to support these special populations and provide additional resources to support 21st century learning goals.

Continue or propose new action for how to spend supplemental funds to support unduplicated students? Brainstorm:
Proposal: Staff position for outreach to families i.e. paraeducator, mandarin or spanish speaker, bridge with monthly calls to families
Invest this year will apply next year $4-5,000 current money to carry over for next year, Read Naturally one whole year
Coordinator?
Help/assistant for Sra. Buggy? Needed? Help with testing plus parent outreach. Previous person retired, haven’t filled that position. Flexible hours, post to DJUSD. Apply, interview, fingerprinting, workplan and calendar created with Sra. Buggy.
Almost all EL students are returning. What are their needs?
Childcare?
Catalyst kids open now and Davis Kids Klub starting April, K-6th grade in old computer lab, spots reserved for unduplicted students
Ethnic Studies? - has to be for unduplicated students
Sports for Life - continue as extra curricular activity for next year?
Sra. Ramos - program for parents/families EL three nights during school year - plan for next year
Sra Buggy - extra assistance to families for events to attend with their families. Current and re-classified ELs extra support, still relevant to support. Doesn’t need much support in terms of paperwork. Next year continue with services, testing
Support families for summer options, extra curricular activity

Motion by Juliette: Use remaining, unused supplemental funds to support short term Variable Services Agreement that would lead into permanent position in the fall. Position will support, outreach to EL and unduplicated families, help bridge back to school and support summer program along the lines of Se Puede Leadership Academy. Position would continue in 21/22 school year as a priority use of 21/22 supplemental funds.
Motion Seconded by Ann Buggy.
Motion passed 6-0
Sra. Buggy is requesting waiver to exempt 3rd - 6th grade students to not take standardized test. Will most likely adminster test in 21/22 year
