Internship Opportunities
for Arts Academy Students
In addition to the Arts Academy curriculum, students participate in events and activities that help them prepare for the future. We are fortunate that our students have the opportunity to participate in an internship as this is something typically reserved for college students. Participation in an internship allows students to explore a potential career path prior to committing to a specific college major. Internship students develop a strong work ethic, leadership skills, self-confidence, and communication skills as they work with a mentor in their chosen field. We are excited to offer several internship options for Arts Academy students.
Career Exploration Internship Program (CEIP)
- One semester course, typically taken 9th period in the Fall semester of senior year
- Students attend class for five weeks, then receive early dismissal to go to the internship site
- Internships may be in any career field, students and teachers work together to secure internship placements
- Location, schedule, dress code, etc. determined by the student’s internship mentor
- 54 hours of job shadowing/work experience required to earn course credit
- Students must provide their transportation to the internship site
