- There is still money and we would like to give a little extra to the Ottoson Teachers in the near future to recognize them.
- We received a $350 donation from a student. It was part of fundraising for his black belt. We’d like to acknowledge him.
- QSA has not used all of the money donated directly to them. Will follow up with Nancy to spend it by the end of the school year.
- Garden Club –There is a parent looking for $100 to start up the garden project again. We have a club line item that hasn’t been used. So we can give money for that since we have the funds. Mr. Meringer - there used to be a garden club prior to the schools splitting and it hasn’t been tended to since. It would be great to get that started again.
- $390 was made from the Blue Ribbon fundraiser
- Del's Lemonade fundraiser will take place on Monday.
- WeCo – we have a fundraiser with them coming up. They will send a link to the menu ahead. That fundraiser is coming up the week of May 23rd – May 27th.
- Last minute fundraiser – Sammy from Arlington Café would like to do something with the middle school. That is scheduled for June 2nd.
- We would love to do after event surveys – let’s do one at the end of the year to find out what people liked, what fundraisers they used and if they had any problems.
Principal’s Discussion
Brian Meringer - Ottoson Middle School
- Flags – I would love to get flags from different countries to add some decoration to the cafeteria
- I think 2x3 flags would work and we could get them hung up around the cafeteria.
- Jean will research buying flags from Arlington Banner & Flag. Custodians can probably hang the flags.
- End of year activities for the 8th graders include a trip to Canobie Lake – we will be using Arlington buses – we will have to stay later (4:15pm) so the buses can do their route and then return to pick up the students. Otherwise, it will be a short visit in the park. This is planned for June 22nd.
- Ceremony will be outside – weather dependent. Students will be split into two groups.
- Gibbs students will be coming to OMS on June 2nd. Parent’s night for incoming 6th Graders will be scheduled for June 9 or 10th.
