From the Headteacher
Goodbye to our Year 6.
It is with mixed emotions that we say goodbye to our Year 6. We will really miss all the children but we know that they are all ready for the next stage in their school journey. They have been a lovely year group who have entered into everything with such gusto and enthusiasm. We all wish all the best for secondary school and the bright futures ahead of them!
This term the whole school have enjoyed three enrichment days. These were Indian dancing, Chinese music and last Friday we all enjoyed the African drumming. These were all linked with our celebrating ‘diversity’ and the children (and adults) all had a fantastic time working together, with a whole-school performance at the end of each day. A big thank you to Miss Crossan for organising these days.
The children’s Family Tree project have been shared in assembly time, in class and we had an afternoon where we displayed them in the hall for each class to go in and read them. I have been amazed at the hard work that has gone into them. I will be sending them home this week as I feel that they are a lovely resources to keep at home for you to add to as families grow. Thank you again to all of you who took part in this family homework.
End of year raffle
We will be selling tickets this week for a chance to win one of five sweet collections in our end-of-year raffle due to be drawn in final assembly on Friday. 20p and ticket or £1 a strip. Tickets on sale outside the office from 8.35am Tues - Fri.
END OF THE YEAR
It has been a busy year and the children have been amazing but we now all need a rest to ‘recharge our batteries’. I would like to finish the year by thanking all the children, staff and volunteers for all their hard work, determination and commitment this year.
Have a restful summer and see you all in September!
Don’t forget we finish at 1.30pm on Friday.

A Message from PTA
We just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped in any way with PTA events and fundraising this year, and all those who have come along to events and helped make them a success.
Over the course of the year we have raised over £4000. This money, together with a similar amount we raised last year, will cover about half the cost of resurfacing the playground outside Reception and Year 1, a job which school would have struggled to fund otherwise. The work will be done over the summer holidays so we should all come back to a much smarter-looking playground!
We are already planning events for next year, so watch this space for information on what we have planned.
Have a lovely summer!
Well Done to Erin Adams-James in Year 4 for winning the Junior Newbury Building Society Colouring Competition.
If your child has any medicine / inhalers / epipens in school, please can you check the expiry date before the end of term.
If any are out of date or coming to the end of their expiry date, please can you make sure these are replaced on or before the 1st day of term in September.
The current lunch menu can be found on the school website here
Public Health England have updated their poster regarding infection control in schools and other childcare locations, it contains lots of handy information regarding the appropriate amount of time to be off school with a variety of complaints and therefore is a useful reference tool.
