Terms & Conditions for PetConomy

Thanks for using our products and services (“Services”). The Services are provided by Animal Enterprise Worldwide (“Animal Transportation Worldwide”, “ATW” ), located at 28901 State Route 30 Kensington, Ohio 44427 United States.

By using ATW Services, you (“client”, ”consignor”, “departing party”, ”consignee”, “arriving party”) are agreeing to these terms. Please read them carefully.

ATW’s Services are very diverse, so sometimes additional terms or product requirements (including age requirements) may apply. Additional terms will be available with the relevant Services, and those additional terms become part of the clients agreement with us if choosing to use those Services.

Terms of use

PetConomy is a service provided by ATW to accomodate animals for transportation. PetConomy is a flat rate service based on the weight of the animal in transportation. With PetConomy the following will be additional expenses; Dog Walks, Protection, GPS Tracking, Crate Upgrade, PetBath, & Locker. To obtain PetConomy Services client must place a NON-REFUNDABLE deposit, this deposit will be either $100.00 USD or 25%, whichever is greater. After payment is received the client may select a date, however this date is tentative and may be adjusted between a 7 day interval. Prior to departure the Animal Transportation Specialist must not accept an animal for transportation unless the consignor certifies in writing that the animal was offered food and water 4 hours before departure. The Animal Transportation Specialist will give the consignor both a 4 hour and 1 hour notice prior to the arrival of ATW. ATW will give a 48 hour notice prior to arrival, this notice will help indicate a more precise departure. Upon arrival, the consignor (departing party) must be able to accommodate the departure of the animal between 4:00 A.M to 11:59 P.M (0400 to 2359) standard local time Sunday through Saturday. Upon arrival, Animal Transportation Specialists will assist in completing the departure of the animal. Due to insurance reasons, the consignor (departing party) must facilitate in the loading the animal for departure. Exceptions to this term of loading/unloading the animal would include the consignor’s (departing party’s) physical inability to complete the loading/unloading of the animal due to medical reasons. Upon arrival, the consignee (arriving party) must be able to accommodate the arrival of the animal between 4:00 A.M to 11:59 P.M (0400 to 2359) standard local time Sunday through Saturday. Due to insurance reasons the consignee (arriving party) must facilitate in the unloading the animal for arrival. ATW is not responsible for loading/unloading the animal. Exceptions to this term of loading/unloading the animal would include the consignee’s (arriving party’s) physical inability to complete the loading/unloading of the animal due to medical reasons. ATW will give a 48 hour notice prior to arrival, this notice will help indicate a more precise arrival. Failure for the consignee’s (arriving party’s) to be there upon arrival will result in loss of the NON-REFUNDABLE deposit. Failure for consignee’s (arriving party’s) to be there upon arrival will result in additional charge of PetConomy flat rate as well as the additional charges for additional services. ATW will continue our route to next destination in turn to the client when fits such schedule. If the consignee (arriving party) is not there for the second chance for arrival the animal will be returned to the consignor (departing party). By law (Animal Welfare Regulations provided by the USDA Section 3.13f) the dog will be returned to the cosigner (departing party) and the carrier or immediate handler must obligate the consignor (departing party) to reimburse the carrier or immediate handler (ATW) for the cost of the return transportation and care ATW return trip and care cost is $1.30 USD per mile (United States) or per kilometer (Canada). 

PETCONOMY - Payment

After a nonrefundable deposit payment is received client may select a date for departure, however this date is tentative and may be adjusted between a 7 day interval. The remaining balance of the PetConomy service must be paid the Monday prior to pickup of the animal. Unless the pickup date is Monday (this requires payment on the prior Monday) the final PetConomy payment is due the Monday before departure. If payment is not completed by the Monday prior to transport, ATW has the right to alter the date of departure. A new tentative date will then be agreed on between ATW and the client. If a date cannot be agreed upon, the non refundable deposit will be lost. Additional services may be added at the time of departure with the Animal Transportation Specialist. This includes the upcharges to a larger weight interval if the Transportation Specialist feels as if the incorrect weight has been provided. The Animal Transportation Specialist has the right to dispute the weight of the clients animal. Scales will be provided by ATW to determine the correct weight of the animal. Failure to pay the upcharges will result in the loss of the nonrefundable deposit and loss of transportation services from ATW.

Feeding and Watering

According to Animal Welfare Regulations provided by the USDA section 3.16a, Each animal that is 16 weeks of age or more must be offered food at least once every 24 hours. Animals less than 16 weeks of age must be offered food at least once every 12 hours. Each animal must be offered potable water at least once every 12 hours. Each dog and cat must be offered food and potable water within 4 hours before being transported in commerce. Consignors who are subject to the Animal Welfare  regulations must certify that each animal was offered food and potable water within the 4 hours preceding delivery of the animal to ATW for transportation in commerce, and must certify the date and time the food and potable water was offered.

ATW offers food and water twice per day to each animal.

PETCONOMY - Flat Rate

PetConomy is a flat rate service. The flat rate is based upon the weight of the animal being transported. If weight is incorrectly reported the consignor (departing party) will be responsible for the difference in cost. This will be due before the departure of the clients animal.

Additional Services

During PetConomy transport the following services are not included in the flat rate transportation. They can however be purchased additionally prior to transport. Additional Services - Additional Pet

Additional Pet is a service that allows for the transportation of multiple animals to be transported simultaneously in the same primary enclosure. This service is an additional fee that must be paid the prior Monday to transport. This service allows for the client to purchase one primary enclosure based on the weight of the heaviest animal then each additional animal being transported in the same primary enclosure will be an additional fee. If the animals cannot be transported simultaneously in the same primary enclosure for the following reasons then the client must purchase an additional primary enclosure for transportation.

Reasons for the Animal Transportation Specialist to decline the simultaneous transport of multiple animals in the same primary enclosure:

  1. Live animals transported in the same primary enclosure must be of the same species and be maintained in compatible groups. An exception is that of which cats and dogs that are private pets can be housed together as long as they are comparable in size, and are compatible.
  2. Puppies or kittens 4 months of age or less may not be transported in the same primary enclosure with adult dogs or cats other than their dams.
  3. Animals that are overly aggressive or exhibit a vicious disposition must be transported individually in their own primary enclosure.  
  4. Any female animal that is in heat (estrus) may not be transported in the same primary enclosure with any male animal.
  5. Any animals being transported in the same primary enclosure must each be able to at any point have enough space to turn about normally while standing, to stand and sit erect, and to lie in a natural position.
  6. No more than 4 live animals may be transported in a single enclosure 8 weeks of age or older.

*For the safety of the animal and abiding to section 3.14 of the Animal Welfare Regulations provided by the USDA: If at any point during transportation the Animal Transportation Specialist has the right to separate the animals for any reason. The client must pay the difference of the Additional Pet service and the PetConomy rate for that animals specific weight interval.

Additional Services - Dog Walks

ATW offers a service for an additional fee that involves the walking of dogs. Dog Walking is a service that can be added for an additional fee up to three times per day. Walks will be 5 to 15 minutes per prepaid stop. If dog is shown to be too aggressive or our Animal Transportation Specialist feels it is unsafe to walk the dog, then they have the right to decline to walking of the dog. If at any point the dog is thought unsafe to be walked the client will receive a full refund for the walk(s) in question. ATW will provide a leash for walking, however without the following requirements the dog can be seen unfit to be walked.

Note: The Animal Transportation Specialist has the right to refuse any harnesses that they see as unfit for use at their discretion.

Emergency Medical Care

During Transportation if your animal needs Emergency Medical Care, ATW will provide transportation service to the closest Emergency Animal Care Location. The client will be notified immediately of the animals’ status. ATW will not be responsible for any medicals cost. ATW will not be able to begin the transportation of the animal again until the veterinarian as completed a new health certificate confirming that the animal is again healthy for transport. If the animal is to be admitted for more than 4 hours the Animal Transportation Specialist is required to continue their PetConomy trip without the clients animal. If this is the case, ATW will be able to offer the client alternate transportation dates after the vet has cleared the animal for transport. ATW will bare no responsibility for the cost of medical bills, over night stays, transportation, and anything the attending Emergency Care facility may charge to you.

Additional Services -Animal Protection (PerProtection)

Animal Protection is an additional service offered that in the incident of the animal being physically injured, ATW will cover the cost.

$20 covers up to $1,000 in bodily injury.

$80 covers up to $5,000 in bodily injury.

Animal Protection applies to all species and breeds of animals.

Animal Protection does not cover illness, pre-existing injury, or pregnant animals.

In the case of an incident ATW Animal Protection will cover physical medical costs (ex. broken leg) that may have occurred during the incident in question. In the worst case scenario if the animal is lost or stolen, ATW will reimburse the full amount of the value insured. In case of the demise of the animal, ATW will contact a third party veterinarian to conduct an autopsy to conclude the animal’s cause of demise.  If the cause of demise is unknown (non-vehicular collision related), then payment cannot be made until the owner agrees to an autopsy by a third party veterinarian and the cause is proven to fall on ATW. If the cause of demise is known, ATW will reimburse the full amount of the value insured. If the third party autopsy results do not show ATW to be at fault, ATW is not held responsible for the medical bills or the cost of the third party inspection.

Illnesses (i.e. allergies, diabetes, cancer), hereditary disorders, infectious diseases, congenital anomalies/developmental disorders (pre-existing injuries/conditions) are not covered by the Animal Protection Service.

The most ATW will pay for all damages in any one loss is a total of either $1,000 for the $5 purchase amount or $5,000 for the $20 purchase amount per animal that is protected.

Additional Services - Animal Protection - Filing a Claim

File a claim by emailing ATW at info@atw.net

From time of drop off client has 24 hours to report a claim.

A. Client must submit a claim within 14 days of the deliver date. For the fastest and easiest claim filing experience, please email Info@atw.net with Subject Claim to submit documents. Alternately, ATW is reachable at 1 (866) 774-9958.
B. Client must cooperate with us in the investigation or settlement of any claim.
C. ATW may require complete medical history/records associated with the animal to process the claim.
1. At ATW’s request, client agrees to provide ATW with all of the animal’s medical history/records.
2. Client authorizes ATW, at the time of enrollment and any time after to contact any and all veterinary clinics or hospitals to obtain all available medical records that exist for the animal.
3. Client authorizes any and all veterinary clinics or hospitals to release to ATW all medical records that exist for the animal. If client cannot (or refuses) to disclose a complete medical history for the animal when requested, ATW may deny client’s claim(s).If client disagrees with the coverage provided on any claim, client may request a review of the decision using ATW’s voluntary appeals process. If client believes ATW wrongly affirmed denial of the clients claim through this appeals process, client can request further review by an Independent Third-Party Veterinarian (ITPV) ATW has selected. ATW selects these Veterinarians solely on their ability to decide on issues of medical nuance and have no other relationship or affiliation with them. The ITPV’s decision will be final and binding on ATW. Disagreements regarding direct policy exclusions, timing of coverage, and policy wording interpretations are not eligible for ITPV Review.

D. The client must agree to a non disclosure agreement before receiving any types of reimbursement.

Additional Services - GPS Tracking

GPS Tracking is provided at an additional cost. ATW’s GPS Tracking is ran through Google Maps. The client will be provided a link that will allow they access to the Animal Transportation Specialist’s location during the time in which their animal is in transport.

Additional Services - Crate Upgrade

Crate upgrade is a service available for an additional fee. Crate upgrade allows the animal to have extra space during transport. The client may purchase this service at the time of departure if the client feels as if they would like the animal in a larger primary enclosure. If there are no larger primary enclosures for upgrade due to space, this service cannot be offered. ATW will not be able to upgrade an animal that already needs to be in the largest size primary enclosure.

Additional Service - PetBath

PetBath is a service available for an additional fee as long as vehicle abiding. PetBath will be given prior to arrival. Animals will be bathed in warm water and ATW will provide the shampoo for the bath. Client may provide shampoo if they do so choose.

Additional Services - Locker

Locker is a service available for an additional fee. Locker is securing an extra primary enclosure for storage. Client may place anything in the locker as long as it meets the dimensions provided when booking. ATW has the right to thoroughly inspect every item that enters the vehicle and decline anything that the Animal Transportation Specialist feels is unsafe, illegal, too large, or for any reason that does not have to be provided.

PETCONOMY - Pre Departure

Prior to a Animal Transportation Specialist arriving the following must be prepared for transport:

Note: The Animal Transportation Specialist has the right to refuse any optional items at their discretion. If the items are not the mandatory requirements or cannot be securely placed with the animal the items shall not be accepted to be transported. ATW does offer Locker storage for an additional fee.

Severability

If at any time this policy’s provisions are in conflict with the applicable laws, rules, and/or regulations of the state or other jurisdiction of residence in which this policy is issued, the provisions will be reformed and construed to be valid, legal, and enforceable to the maximum extent permitted by such applicable laws, rules, and/or regulations to affect the original intent of the parties as closely as possible.
