Here is what’s happening this week!

ELA

Steve Specht

Students have been writing a reflective essay based on a character they chose from the movie, “America’s Heart and Soul. ”I am proud of their effort in following the POWER writing process. Final products are due on Tuesday ,Nov.21st.

We will also be continuing our study of short stories..

I want to wish everyone a wonderful winter break. It has been a pleasure to teach your children in ELA.

Math

Students are still working on percents. Students are able to complete delta math class assignments at home.  They need to use their IC Imagine google account to log in you can check their progress in math there.  If there are any questions about logging in please email me to trouble shoot. Students receive weekly homework assignments due every Wednesday.  Please ask them to show you their homework.

Science

Andy Pond

Students will continue studying Ecosystems.   We will focus on the flow of energy and the cycle of matter within the ecosystem.

Social Studies

Social Studies has begun a new unit on the Paleo & Neolithic Periods, and The Five Themes of Civilization. We will explore the earliest human settlements, as well as Ancients Mesopotamia, Egypt, India, & China.

Any work that student’s do not finish in class is considered homework. I also encourage every student to read one article related to a current event or something in history, if they don’t have any other homework/reading for the evening.

Our AVID trip on 11/14 was a HUGE success.

Thank you all for preparing your student(s) for the field trip. They participated in a campus scavenger hunt, LUNCH!, 2 classes and a jeopardy game.
