What do I need for class everyday?

• Math notebook or notebook paper
• Math workbook - (online book available if needed)
• Sharpened Pencils and Erasers
• Agenda Book
• Completed Homework
• Teachers use their professional judgment to select material and texts to use with students that are aligned with course and curriculum goals, stimulate student thinking and reasoning, and provide opportunities for students to become familiar with varying perspectives and diverse points of view.  

Homework:

• Will be assigned typically Monday through Thursday,  
• Must be completed before class on the day that it is due

Retake Opportunities:

In an effort to foster a growth mindset in students, Ellington Middle School provides a variety of opportunities for students to improve their work by redoing assignments, revising their writing, and retaking assessments to show mastery of the content and standards. On most assignments and assessments, students may be provided multiple opportunities to demonstrate their understanding, however the following parameters apply:

• Portions of the assessment that have already been completed in a satisfactory manner do not need to be done again.
• Grades are not averaged. The grade that best reflects student mastery of skills is the grade that counts. In most instances, this will be the grade on the redo or retake.
• Some assessments are considered summative in nature and will not be eligible for a retake.  

Assignments including retakes are expected to be completed within ONE week of getting the assignment back.  

Additional Information:

• Homework assignments will be posted daily on Google Classroom
• When you are absent, it is YOUR responsibility to see me for quiz/test make-ups or reach out for missing work - WIN Block is a great time for this!
