  1. ORIGINAL Magazine Cover from Fireworks

  1. UPDATED Magazine Cover from Fireworks

  1. Magazine Cover REVIEW - Brief, Changes and Tools

The final design of my magazine cover matches Green Line Entertainment requirements as it gives the reader information and is an eye catching original design. The colours used in the cover, text and images all follow a colour scheme that relates to the company’s image which also matches what Green Line Entertainment wanted.

However in my original design there isn’t much text, so not much information is given to the reader; the colour scheme is not as effective at relating to the company.

The magazine cover informs the reader of upcoming events with text that isn’t too big to detract from the main focus of the magazine - the background image of the artist. The reader is given other relevant information inside the magazine.

The changes that I’ve made from the original design are the choices of colour, I  decided to use green colours instead in my final design as opposed to the sand colour that I chose in my original design.   I made this design choice as it meets the requirements of the company, the updated colours match the company’s image, and are more eye catching.

  1. ORIGINAL Logo from Fireworks

  1. UPDATED Logo from Fireworks

  1. LOGO REVIEW - Techniques, Changes and Tools

My logo design meets Green Line Entertainment’s requirements as it captures the company’s image well, therefore it is successful at promoting the company and the website where the logo will be used.

The changes that I have made from my original design are the background details that I have added to the logo, making the logo stand out more. I’ve made this change so that the logo identifies more with the company. The background resembles speakers and relates to the entertainment aspect of GLE.

Other design choices that I have made to my design are the colours I have used, I changed the outline to black and the green to a darker one to make the logo stand out more.

g) Exporting

The file format that I have chosen for my magazine cover and Logo is PNG as it has a higher compression rate than a JPEG. The logo is only 427 KB after compression, this means that it will load on any device easily as the file size is very small, the logo is 500x490 pixels and should fit in the corner of a website.  PNG also allows for higher bit depth, giving it better colours; it also has a DPI of 96 which is ideal for web use.

My magazine has been exported at 1591x2000 pixels,  I have chosen this size as it is close to the A3 format when printed. The file size is 9.62 MB, which is much larger than the logo, but unlike the logo this will not be used on a website but instead printed for use in a magazine.
