COVID-19 Policies and Protocols
Updated as of October 13, 2021

The following COVID-19 Policies and Protocols supersede all other health and safety protocols while they remain in effect.

OVERVIEW

The following includes COVID-19 protocols for behavior in and out of school. While we are sensitive to those who may feel it is an overreach to dictate behavior outside of school, we have decided that this is essential to the health of individual students and faculty members; to the safety of our community as a whole; and to our ability to keep school open. Please avoid high risk behaviors in your personal lives. If you do engage in high risk behaviors for whatever reasons, reach out to us so we can work with you to establish a testing plan that minimizes risk for the rest of the community. The COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee suggests our community consider levels of risk as follows:

A) COMMUNITY COMMITMENT

In order to ensure the health and wellness of the children and adults in our community, including those who are most vulnerable, we all commit to:

B) COVID-19 MEDICAL ADVISORY COMMITTEE

All COVID-19 protocols and decisions are made by the COVID-19 Medical Advisory Committee that has been working together since early in the pandemic.

C) RISK MITIGATION STRATEGIES

We continue to employ multiple layers of risk mitigation strategies. Taken as a whole, we are working to create the safest possible environment for children to learn in by mandating vaccination, ensuring proper ventilation, wearing masks, surveillance testing, daily screening, and dividing into “pods.” Some risk, however, is inevitable when we bring students and teachers together in-person. At this time, we believe this risk to be worthwhile when balanced against all the benefits of in-person learning and the downsides and risks to remote learning.

D) SYMPTOMS:

E) EXPOSURE:

F) FAMILY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Stay home until they receive a negative PCR test taken no sooner than the fifth day after travel, or
  2. Return to school immediately under the following testing protocols:
  1. Rapid test (at home or at testing site) on days 1, 2, 3 and 4 after return.
  2. PCR test on day 5 after return.
  3. Rapid test (at home or at testing site) for any school day while awaiting PCR results.
