*Please note: The information provided below might have changed as businesses react to the policies around Covid-19. Please plan ahead by visiting the website, calling or checking the social media of your destination for information about their guidelines and hours.

Fall 2021 - Winter 2022

The inn has purchased air purifiers that sit in the common areas and we use them between stays to protect the staff and ensure your room is as clean as possible when you arrive.

Masks are required to enter the house and in the common areas of the inn.

Breakfast is being served at the table. We are maintaining social distancing, and we are spreading guests out between tables, spaces, and times. Breakfast is served at 8, 8:45, or 9:30, and we can serve up to 2 couples at a time.

There will be no housekeeping service during your stay to keep your room as safe as it was when you arrived.

Only registered guests are permitted on the property.  All others will require the consent of the Innkeeper prior to arriving.

Included in your stay are: homemade snacks in the evening (cookies, brownies, etc.), private use of the outdoor hot tub, always breakfast is included, and free tasting coupons to some of the region’s best wineries.

The spa is open with limited appointments. Schedule in advance at your stay by calling us at 607-387-6033.

There is a 4-night minimum through the end of October.

There are 2-3 night minimums November through April.

Be Environmentally Friendly With Us

It can be tricky when you’re traveling to keep sustainable practices because you’re out of your routine. When you stay with us you’ll see we have 2 rows of solar panels in the backyard that covers most of the Main House. We also compost all of our food scraps, recycle and return bottles, cans, paper, etc. So when you leave your trash in your rooms, keep your food separate and we will compost it for you!

The inn is on Trumansburg Village water, which was voted the best drinking water in Tompkins County! So please bring your reusable water bottles. If you would like to borrow one, we have some as well!

Thanks for being eco-friendly!

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in the room rate. Breakfast times are chosen as early at 8:00am to as late as 9:30am. Please give us what time you would like at check-in. We ask for your time so we can make sure to have your breakfast ready when you come down. If you will be late, need to change your time, or would not like breakfast at some point during your stay, give us a call at 607-387-6033 and leave a message the night before. We do not serve lunch or dinner. Visit our Restaurants section for our recommendations.

Call Us

Have a question or want something? Just ask! Our number is 607-387-6033. Most of the time we have someone on the property but with two houses, two acres, and a dog we are not always in view, so give us a call.

Check-In/Check-Out Information

Check in time is between 3:00-6:00pm and self check-in after 6pm. Check out time is 11:00am. If you wish to have an early check in or late check out please ask. Sometimes we are able to accommodate this request when we are not as busy.

When you check-out at the end of your stay make sure your bill is settled and leave your key in your room or at the desk.

Dogs

Pets are not allowed at the inn. You will likely see our Australian Shepherd, Sadie running around. She is not allowed in the guest areas. We ask that you assist us in enforcing good behavior by playing with her outside in the back and if she runs out into the dining room please tell her “Out!”. It takes an Inn to train an Aussie.  We hope you are excited about her as she is about you but we understand not everyone is a dog-person. So to be kind to all guests and dogs please do not encourage them to play beyond the kitchen.

Gift Certificates & Mugs

We have gift certificates available in $50 increments that can be used at the inn or spa. We also sell our breakfast mugs for $19.95 each. Choose from black, or orange.

Grocery & Liquor Stores

ShurSave - Get all your necessities here.

Main Street Market - Natural food store with some breakfast, lunch, and dinner offerings.

Trumansburg Wine & Spirits - Next to the ShurSave building.

Trumansburg Liquor - Wine and Spirits in the Village on Main St. is next door to Hazelnut Kitchen.   Both wine stores have local wines and spirits.

Heating and Cooling in Rooms

For the cooler months every room has at least 2 sources of heat. A radiator and either a gas fireplace, baseboard heating, or bathroom floor heat. If you are too hot please turn the radiator off (righty tighty OFF, lefty loosey ON). Please refrain from opening your windows. If you are cold make sure your radiator(s) is on and turn everything up. For the bathroom floor heat hit the center button to turn it on/off and the upper and lower buttons to adjust temperature.

In the warmer months you will have an A/C unit in the window. Please do not run the A/C and have your windows open at the same time. If you are staying in the Cayuga or Seneca Suites please put your screens in the windows before leaving them open. There is also a ceiling fan in each room. If you happen to be cold during the summer there will be an extra blanket in your dresser drawers.

Hiking

The major gorges are Taughannock Falls State Park, Robert H. Treman State Park, Buttermilk Falls State Park, Cascadilla Gorge and Ithaca Falls are downtown Ithaca, Montour Falls and Watkins Glen State Park. The parks remain open year round with some restrictions come winter time. The trails range from easy to moderately difficult (.75 miles - 6 miles). A great way to get out and explore why Ithaca is Gorges. These parks all have a swimming area.

Taughannock Falls is the closest, just 2 miles from the inn. Robert H. Treman and Buttermilk Falls are in Ithaca. Watkins Glen is in...Watkins Glen.

Housekeeping

There will be no housekeeping service during your stay to keep your room as safe as it was when you arrived.

Wineries & Driving Services

We provide the wine trail guides for Seneca, Cayuga and Keuka Lakes in your room. Keep in mind that there are more amazing wineries than listed in the guides. The Finger Lakes area is always expanding and includes great options for beer, distillery, and hard cider fans as well. Some popular ones include Garrett’s Brewing Company, Ithaca Beer Co, Finger Lakes Distilling, Myers Distillery, and Finger Lakes Cider House.

Seneca Lake wines lean to the drier side while Cayuga Lake wines lean to the sweeter side.

Lamoreaux Landing Wine Cellars - great view of Seneca Lake

Shalestone Vineyards - only reds

Red Newt Cellars Winery & Bistro

Atwater Estate Vineyards

Hosmer Winery
