ATTENTION ALL STUDENTS: If you stay after school for an activity, club or sport, you must have a bus pass from your advisor, teacher or coach to ride the late bus. You will not be allowed on the late bus without a pass. The only reason any student should be on campus after 2:25 is if they are at a club meeting, activity or sport.

YEARBOOK: The 2025 John Jay Patriot Yearbook is now on sale. To order your yearbook go to: Jostens John Jay. If you order your yearbook before October 25, 2024 with personalization, you can get up to 4 free icons. In order to ensure that we can add as much content and make it more valuable, yearbooks will not be delivered in the Spring but will be shipped individually in August to your home. When ordering a yearbook, please make sure your home address is correct.

Science Research Club: The Science Research Club will meet again on Friday, December 20th, in Room 273. Join us if you're interested in conducting real scientific research alongside experienced mentors! We'll help you prepare projects for science fairs, including ISEF, and teach you how to write and submit research papers for publication in top journals. We meet Tuesdays after school in Room 145. It's a great chance to learn more about what FBLA has to offer and how you can get involved.

SPORTS:
The Wappingers Crew Club is holding pre-season practices for prospective novice athletes! Practices are open to anyone, regardless if you participated in the Fall Learn to Row program.
If you would like to participate, please fill out this Google Form. Practices will be Saturdays in January at the HRRA Boathouse in Poughkeepsie, from 11am-1pm. Registration costs $50. We will practice proper rowing technique in the tanks, and work on physical fitness on the erg machines. This program is excellent for anyone who is on the fence about joining WCC for our spring season, as you will get a glimpse of the sport. It is also a great opportunity to get to know your future teammates and coaches ahead of the beginning of the spring season in mid February.

Tomorrow, December 19th, the Boys Basketball Team will play Ketcham at 6pm here at John Jay. The game will be dedicated to the memory of John Jay Teachers Jules Eurillo (your-ill-oh) and Michael Ambron who passed away suddenly while teaching here at John Jay. There will be a brief ceremony before the start of the game to honor these 2 amazing teachers. We hope you can all come out and show your support. Again, 6pm Thursday here at John Jay.
Athletes of the Week 12/9/24 - 12/15/24
Zacharie Amilcar, Track & Field - (10th grade) - Top 10 placement is 3 events at the Frosh/Soph Meet at Rockland Community College. 2nd in the Long Jump with 18' 0.5", 5th in the 55m running 7.41s, 8th in 300m running 42.30s
Jayden Conto, Bowling - 11th Grade - Jayden bowled a team-high game of 258 (649 series) leading the team to a victory against Carmel on Thursday. This followed a 653 series against Arlington.
Nico Cuba, Basketball - named to the All Tournament Team in the Brewster holiday tournament.
Natalie Curatola, Bowling - 11th Grade - Natalie's high game of 182 for the week led the team to a win against Carmel on Thursday.
Brandon DellaPia, Wrestling - (grade 12) won his second Patriot Invitational Championship to help the wrestling team take first place at his weekend's tournament.
Kahla Johnson, Track & Field - (9th grade) - Only 1st place for JJ this week at 2 meets. Shot Put 29' 3". 4th best JJ girls shot put all time (Athletic Net) in her first meet.
Finnegan O’Hara, Swimming - had 2 personal best swims in the 100m freestyle and the 100m breaststroke on Wednesday @ Yonkers
John Vukelj, Basketball - Junior Forward, scored a game high 23 points, including the game winning free throw in the win at home against Horace Greeley.
