How

Ensure engagement, growth mindset and intellectual stretch is consistently evident in learning tasks.

Growth mindset - Continue to develop positive learning dispositions across the school community.

Strengthening Executive function in students

Develop and implement strategies to create intellectual stretch.

Focus:

If we work in this space with staff and students, we believe we will see shift in nos. 1 & 2.

Establish a working group of staff and students

Develop whole school approach to Play is the Way. Link EF language with Play is the Way language.  Does EF language link more closely to goal setting?

Students develop and work towards learning / disposition goals related to mindset, EF and/or Intellectual Stretch.  Staff need to be in these spaces also - engagement, growth mindset and intellectual stretch.

Teams of teachers collaboratively plan for intentionally increasing intellectual stretch in Maths. Do we change this to English/literacy pedagogy, given our focus on CAFE, 7 steps and Jolly phonics/grammar?

SVIL team promote the Learning Pit model with all classes to provide students with strategies for positive engagement in stretch tasks.

PIW working group formed and meeting.

100% classes engaged in Play is the Way program

100% students R-7 can articulate learning goals and describe their personal progress.

A common understanding of intellectual stretch exists and can be articulated by 100% staff and all year R -7 students.

Evidence that all students are engaged in and persisting through tasks that provide intellectual stretch.
