Energy Assessor

Advanced Efficiency Work (AEW) is now hiring a full-time Energy Assessor  to join our growing team.  This team member will conduct comprehensive and precise home assessments in accordance with utility program standards; educate homeowners about how to make their homes less expensive to heat and cool, safer, and more comfortable; and assist them in signing up to upgrade their home through prescribed installation services.  Will be field based and include travel within Pennsylvania and Maryland.

Ideal Candidate Requirements:

• High School diploma or equivalent & 2+ years relevant work experience
• Experience promoting and/or assessing Residential Construction or Efficiency
• Basic mechanical skills and ability to install basic home items such as light bulbs, showerheads, and potentially thermostats, with training
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, climbing stairs, ladders
• Valid Driver’s License required
• Ability to perform physical tasks including but not limited to: standing, walking, sitting, reading & recording information on handwritten forms and computer screens, using hand tools, navigating small/enclosed places, working in loud/warm/cold environments
• Able to pass basic math and problem-solving tests
• BPI Certification desired
• Lead Certification desired
• Trade School (Carpentry/Electrician/HVAC) Certification desired
• High attention to detail
• Average general knowledge of all construction trades
• Good organizational skills and ability to multi-task
• Comfortable using an iPhone, email, and Google applications

Job Summary:

• Must be driven to provide customer first and professional service and support

•    Develop rapport and understanding to each customer and their concerns

•    Collect data during on-site assessments to document existing systems and associated building make-up
•    Compose efficiency reporting including assessment results and photographic documentation
•    Participate in energy/efficiency assessments and site evaluations  and identify Energy Conservation Measures (ECMs)
•    Perform feasibility, energy savings, and cost-benefit financial analyses for potential ECMs
•    Perform use analyses of building systems using analytical tools to develop energy management plans building-wide energy reduction plans
•    Analyze utility bills, industry specific equipment and customer feedback to identify energy consumption and potential opportunities for reduction and PSA (Pre-Sales Analysis)
•    Communicate reduction plans / potential and implementation in person with residents

•    Stay informed about industry trends through participation in local and national professional organizations and training.
