Wednesday 10th March

 Term 1, Week 6,  2021

Welcome, Tēnā koutou katoa,

Thank you for your understanding and support last week during our alert level 3 distance learning. Learning from home is not an ideal situation. For many the challenge of balancing working from home while trying to support children with their Distance Learning can be very stressful at times. We appreciate this support.

Unfortunately, the changes in alert levels has resulted in the cancellation or postponement of some of our school events.  We will keep you advised via Facebook, Class Dojo and the newsletter.

Welcome to the following students who have started at Pukekohe Hill School recently; Kiana-Rose Isaac, Alex & Ayla Kameli, Rocco Hei Hei and Rushmi Tekotia. We hope both you and your family feel welcome at Pukekohe Hill and your time here is both rewarding and enjoyable.

After Hours Access to School

With the addition of our new fencing we have decided to limit the entry points to our school grounds after hours and on the weekends. School will remain open to the community but the entry points will be reduced to the Ward Street gate and the entry between the office and the hall. Limiting these two entry points also means that all visitors to the school will go past our security cameras!

Distance Learning

The following is a selection of student work during Distance learning last week.

Stella’s Supermarket - Meal Plan

Before I wrote my shopping list I came up with a meal plan for 5 days and 5 nights for less than $100.

The things I came up with are

  • Breakfast: nutrigrain and milk
  • Lunches: ham cheese and lettuce sandwiches, fruit, popcorn
  • Dinners: Chicken burgers
  • Chicken and couscous
  • Hot dogs
  • Pork nuggets with rice and peas
  • Chicken Burritos

What I learnt

I bought everything on my shopping list for $92.36 but i had some money left so I got chips and biscuits and the total I spent was $99.6

I learnt how to buy things online and plan my meals to know what I want  to buy. I think it would be quite hard to buy A few meals and house things for under one Hundred dollars.
