Sheriff Lee Hilty would like to share more information about the Text Caster partnership.

Upon signing up for the service, citizens will be able to get alerts on road closings, weather alerts directly from the National Weather Service, ongoing crime situations, and other emergency notifications. This will allow you to have immediate notifications in the event of a wanted person, a dangerous weather situation, and/or general event notifications

We were able to apprehend a fleeing subject within the first two weeks of having Textcaster available!

Arrests and Reports 

Sheriff Lee Hilty reported deputies made arrests and took multiple reports during the week of May 21, 2024 through May 27, 2024

May 21, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies arrested David Nelson at the Henry County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Sex Offender Under Sec 566.149 Present/Loitering Within 500' Of School Building, Grounds, Or Conveyance To Transport Students. Bond is $5,000 cash surety.

May 21, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to South Business 13 Highway, Collins, for a report of a possible stolen vehicle. The U-Haul was reported stolen from Springfield, MO. U-Haul was left at the U-Haul business in Collins. Report taken.

May 21, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies received information of a domestic that occurred on South Hancock Street, Lowry City. Information was taken and investigation is ongoing.

May 22, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies arrested Ronni Clark at the Vernon County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Probation Violation-Tampering with Motor Vehicle. Bond is $10,000 cash only.

May 22, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies received a phone call in regards to a firearm being stolen. Firearm is a Walther .22 caliber semi automatic pistol. Report was taken and the firearm was already entered as stolen from the reporting party in another county.

May 22, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies conducted a search warrant on TT Highway, Osceola.

May 23, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Northwest 1000 Road, Appleton City, for a report of stolen property. Items stolen were a log chain, Craftsman air compressor, 2-ton chain hoist, battery backup, and a trailer jack with wheel. Suspects wanted for questioning.

May 23, 2023- St. Clair County Deputies arrested Lorrie Smith  at the Cedar County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond is $5,000 cash surety.

May 23, 2003- St. Clair County Deputies arrested John Petty at the Bates County Jail on a St. Clair County warrant for Possession of Controlled Substance and Unlawful Possession of Drug Paraphernalia. Bond is $10,000 cash surety.

On Thursday, May 23, 2024, around 6:05 p.m St Clair County Dispatchers received a 911 call of an unresponsive 6 year old male in northwest St Clair County.

St Clair County Deputies responded and assisted with CPR already in progress.  Upon arrival, a CMH ambulance immediately transported the child to Golden Valley Hospital where the child was pronounced dead at 7:36 p.m.

Deputies determined multiple children under the age of 8 were playing in a shallow area of a farm pond.  Adults were nearby and summoned by the children.  The victim was unconscious when an adult pulled the victim from the water.   CPR was started immediately.  

This incident appears to be a tragic accident however, the investigation into the circumstances surrounding this incident is still on-going.

Sheriff Hilty would like to commend the Emergency Medical team from CMH Ambulance, St Clair County Deputies and members of the public for their rescue efforts.  Our thoughts and prayers go out to the families and community.  A tragic incident of this nature affects our whole community.  

May 23, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to East 4th Street, Lowry City, for a report of domestic disturbance. Suspect was gone upon the arrival of deputies. Report was taken

May 24, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies received a walk-in at the Sheriff’s Office in regards to theft. Item stolen is a Cub Cadet Zero Turn mower. Mower was being stored at a residence on Riverview Drive, Osceola. Report was taken.

May 25, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Northeast 881 Private Road, Deepwater, in regards to an Ex-Parte violation. Information was taken and a report was made.

May 25, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Berry Bend Ave, Osceola, for a possible sexual assault. Suspect had fled from the scene and was picked up by Benton County deputies who had been in the area due to storms. Justin Nelson was transported by ambulance for injuries and then arrested at Golden Valley Memorial Hospital and is being charged with Statutory Sodomy or Attempted Sodomy- Deviate Sexual Intercourse-Person Less Than 14 Years of Age. Justin is being held at the St. Clair County Jail on a no Bond warrant.

May 26, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Northeast 1126 Road and Southbound 13 Highway for a report of a vehicle blocking the southbound passing lane. Vehicle was towed.

May 26, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to South Center Road, Osceola, concerning trespassing. Report was taken.

May 26, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Northeast 1076 Road, Lowry City, for a possible overdose. Subject was transported to Golden Valley Memorial Hospital. Subject was pronounced deceased at the hospital. Next of kin was notified.

May 27, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to South 13 HIghway, Lowry City, for a report of trespassing. Subject was gone prior to deputies arriving.

May 27, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to 2nd Street, Osceola, for a report of harassment. Information was taken and forwarded to the Osceola Police Department.

May 27, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies received a call in regards to a scam. Reporting party was wanting to make a report of scammers requesting money to remove spyware off of computers.

May 27, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to South 13 Highway, Lowry City, for a report of an assault. Report was taken.

May 27, 2024- St. Clair County Deputies responded to Goodrich Drive, Osceola, for a report of juvenile assault. Ryan Boyle was arrested for Domestic Assault-3rd Degree.
