CIMIC Ramadan 2021
Welcome to Ramadan 2021 activities at CIMIC. May Allah bless our efforts to participate together in this blessed month, and may we all cooperate to stay healthy for the good of the community.

Iftar
Water & dates will be provided ONLY outside the Masjid just before Iftar. Please do not take food or drinks inside the Masjid.
For Salat, brothers & sisters are to enter the Masjid with their masks on, take their personal prayer rugs, & pray in the marked spots. Maximum masjid capacity is 110.
After Magrib prayer people must vacate the Masjid & may pick up Iftar boxes intended for all to take home.
Community members & families wanting to provide for Iftar:
To sign up, call Br. Waqar 908-416-4035 (No Iftar day on the last day of Ramadan)
Iftar will be provided by individuals or groups through CIMIC. To reserve a day, please sign up in advance for one of the following restaurants:
Niros Gyros, 401 W. Kirby, Champaign ($10/box value) tel. 217-693-7969 individuals can pick up to 3 hours before Iftar. Say, “I am picking up a Masjid Iftar dinner”
Stawberry Fields 306 W. Springfield, Urbana ($10/box value) tel. 217328-1655 you can pick Iftar up to 3 hours before Iftar. Say, “I am picking up a Masjid Iftar dinner”
Shawarma Joint, 627 E. Green St, Urbana ($10/box value) tel. 217-552-1320 you can pick up Iftar up to 3 hours before Iftar. Say, “I am picking up a Masjid Iftar dinner” (they prefer to provide Iftars on Sunday).
Vinny’s, ($10/three large slices pizza with 2 toppings), the restaurant will deliver only to the Masjid, they do not have a pick option available.
Iftar dinner distribution will be in boxes in the Masjid parking lot and distribution will begin approximately 30 min prior to Maghrib prayers to allow community members time to reach home before iftar time.
Or individuals or groups may provide Iftar for all from any source (must be Zabiha meat), it should be in boxes with lids & delivered to the Masjid 45 minutes before Iftar.

Taraweeh Prayers
Taraweeh will be live on-line: www.cimic.org/worship/cimic-live-events/
Parking around the Masjid is very limited. You may park in the parking spots with meters, and they are free (After 6:00 pm).
No parking in the neighbors’ parking spots: the rental properties will have cars towed at the owner’s expense and this will create a bad image of our community so please refrain from parking in their spaces.
Make wudu at home; Masjid wudu areas are very limited.
Ishaa prayer will start the following times:
Monday April 12 9:05 pm
Thursday April 22 to Saturday May 1, 9:20 pm
Sunday May 2 to Tuesday May 11, 9:30 pm.
Ishaa & Taraweeh prayers will be about 1/2 hour.
Absolutely No food or drinks in the Masjid.
Important Notes:
Zakatul Fitir is $12/person, & must be paid before Eid prayer—the sooner, the better to allow for proper distribution well before the Eid prayer. Remember, your Zaka will not count as Zaka after Eid prayer.
Please respect the following Masjid safety rules:
If you feel sick or have a cough, please stay home!
Without asking, please help keep the Masjid & the surrounding clean.
Give sisters & older people a chance to park in the Masjid parking lot. If you are able, please park in other places.
No babysitting available, Families with young children encouraged to pray at home due to limited prayer space.
Absolutely NO smoking anyplace on Masjid property

The Masjid needs committed volunteers for the following tasks:
Distributing the food, cleaning, & making sure everyone is following Masjid rules (Masks, distance, prayer rugs, no food or drinks inside, & making sure people will leave after prayers.)
Short talk will be delivered on-line.
Eid Al-Fitr will be Wednesday May 13th, more information will follow.
Itikaf in the Masjid (The last 10 days of Ramadan)
Number of individuals attending will not exceed 10.
All Masjid safety rules & regulations must be followed.
Individual must have taken the 2nd vaccine or passed the PCR test, (Proofs are required).
Individuals must register in advance (The 15th of Ramadan is the deadline to sign up).
Individuals must furnish own suhoor prepared & delivered outside the Masjid door. Suhoor to be taken outside. Imam approved this procedure because all outside grounds of the Mosque are also considered part of the Masjid.
Must upkeep & clean the wudu & bathroom areas on a daily bases.
Must furnish prayer rug & bedding.
For any health reasons, the individual may be asked to leave the Masjid.
The Masjid is not responsible for an individual’s safety or loss of property.
