Applications are invited for a 2 to 3-year computational postdoctoral research position in the Montillo lab ( http://www.utsouthwestern.edu/labs/montillo ) at the University of Texas Southwestern in Dallas, USA. The researchers will develop novel deep learning models to predict diagnoses and outcomes from patient data including imaging (fMRI, diffusion MRI, MEG/EEG, PET/SPECT) and corresponding genomic, metabolic and clinical data. Potential projects include theoretical or applied method development.
Ideal applicants will have:
• Ph.D. degree in Computer Science, Electrical/Biomedical Engineering, or related field.
• Experience in medical image analysis including at least 1 image type: MRI, PET, CT, MEG/EEG.
• Machine learning experience at least 1 of the following: deep learning: neural nets (RNN,CNN,DNN), DCGAN, deep RL, transfer learning, autoencoders; classical learning methods; probabilistic graphical models; optimization; image recognition & segmentation.
• Strong programming skills including experience with at least 1 ML Python library: Keras, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Nilearn.
• At least 2 first author papers published and writing skills in English.

I am expanding my research group, which is located at the Center for Information and Language Processing at the University of Munich (LMU).
Candidates will focus on cutting edge research into using deep learning techniques to solve machine translation (neural machine translation). The group is a well-known machine translation research group with strong interests in related natural language problems. The working language of the group is English, no knowledge of German is required.
Three positions are available (one post-doc position and two PhD student positions), with a target starting date of October 2018. In addition, I am looking for early expressions of interest in a further possible post-doc position (see below).
Position 1 is for a funded full-time post-doc on my European Research Council Starting Grant.
Position 2 is for a funded full-time PhD student on my European Research Council Starting Grant.
Position 3 is for an unfunded PhD student. This candidate is already working externally in the Munich area, and wishes to carry out research for a PhD degree.

Two postdoctoral fellow positions specializing in machine learning and signal processing for applications in Critical Care Medicine is available in Point of Care Analytics Lab at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center–Oak Ridge National Lab’s Center for Biomedical Informatics. Point of Care Analytics (PCA) is a laboratory for innovation at the intersection of deep learning, signal processing, medical science, and systems design. PoCA develops novel and impactful applications and algorithms that can be used to predict abnormal medical conditions before they show clinical signs at the bed-side.
A successful applicant must have a Ph.D. of high standing in a relevant discipline (e.g. Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Medical Informatics, etc.) within the last five years and a strong research track record. Strong programming and communication skills are required. Prior experience in Convolutional Neural Network, Recurrent Neural Networks, or real-time signal processing would be a strong asset.

We invite applications for a postdoctoral position in deep learning for the analysis of Large Hadron Collider (LHC) data. The successful candidate will join a multidisciplinary team of physicists and data scientists funded by the IVADO institute in Montreal. The LHC is one of the most ambitious experiment ever conducted. It collides protons together near the speed of light to reproduce the conditions of the Universe right after the Big Bang.
The candidate should hold a PhD in computing science, physics or an equivalent related field, and to have expertise in machine learning. Experience in deep learning is a plus. The candidate is expected to be proficient in machine learning libraries such as Theano, Torch, TensorFlow or Keras.
