Wavier of Liability

I agree to abide by the rules, regulations, and any rules, laws, and guidelines established by the Friendship Center, IBS, and Polk County Health Department.

As consideration for accepting this entry, I, the undersigned, intending to be legally bound, hereby, for me, my heirs, executors, and administrators, do hereby release and forever discharge the Friendship Center, its agents, and employees from any rights and claims for damages I may have against the Friendship Center, its agents and employees for any injures suffered by me in this event. I further agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Friendship Center and its agents and employees from all claims for personal injury or property damage caused by my negligence.

Further, I hereby grant full permission to the Friendship Center or agents authorized by them to use any photographs, videos, recordings, or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.

I understand that a limited number of teams can participate in this event. I understand that sending this application and payment does not guarantee my or my team’s entry into this event.  If your entry is not accepted, your entry fee will be refunded within 30 days of this decision.

Contest Saturday, July 29, 2023, held at the Friendship Center located at 1526 MLK Jr Pkwy, Des Moines, Iowa 50314.

Meat Categories-Chicken and Ribs, the payout for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd overall.

BBQ Contest-$80 per team.

The space size is 10’ by 10’. All equipment must be within your space. Trash must be collected—a fundraising event for MLK Community Center.

Prize money totals at least $700.

Payment must be included with registration. Cash or Check, and No walkups allowed.
