Cross Country (6-8) -Jay Daly & Lisa Daly
Open to students in grades 6-8 from early September through October.
Football (7-8)
Tackle football open to students in grades 7-8 from late August to mid October.
Volleyball - Girls (7-8)
Open to female students in grades 7-8 from August through mid October.
Basketball - Boys (7-8)
Open to male students in grades 7-8 from late October to December.
Basketball - Girls (7-8)
Open to female students in grades 7-8 during January and February.
Dance Team (6)
Open to students in grade 6. A pom routine is learned which is performed at home girls basketball games during January and February.
Dance Team (7-8)
Open to students in grades 7-8. A pom routine is learned which is performed at home boys basketball games during November and December. A competition group may advance onto a weekend event.
Wrestling (5-8)
Open to students in grades 5-8. This is a Winter sport and continues through the end of March.
Bowling (5-8) -Jamie Walbruch
Open to students in grades 5-8. This is a Spring sport that begins at the end of March. The season ends in May.
Soccer (7-8) -Ellen Celske & Jordan Thompson
Open to students in grades 7-8. This is a spring sport that begins at the end of March. The season ends in the middle of May.
Track (6-8) -Jay Daly
Open to students in grades 6-8. This is a spring sport that begins at the end of March. The season ends in the middle of May.
Clubs / Activities
Battle of the Books (5-8) -Katie Kovalaske
Open to students in grades 5-8. The statewide Battle of the Books program is designed to promote a love of reading among our students. It encourages students to read a variety of books and remember information about the plots, characters, and settings of the books. Teams are formed at the beginning of the year and each student works on reading books they have chosen from the list. They meet during lunch/recess more often in December and January to prepare for battles in February.
DECA (8) -Missy Porath
Open to students in grade 8. DECA is a marketing education club that prepares leaders and entrepreneurs for careers in marketing, finance, hospitality, management, and other business areas. DECA members get to attend competitions as well as partake in many community events
FFA (6-8) -Crystal Retzlaff
Open to students in grades 7-8. Are you interested in Agriculture, Horticulture or public speaking and competition? This club is all about having fun and caring about our land and animals. Give FFA a try.
Forensics (7-8) -Brian Hallman
Open to students in grades 7-8. Forensics is an activity in which students compete in a variety of unique speaking events that include: acting, comedy sketches, dramatic performances, radio broadcasts, prose, poetry, and student congress debate. Students are judged against their competitors at tournaments, competing for a chance to be in the final round. Team members usually compete individually, but everyone works for both individual and team success.
HOSA (8) -Jennifer Doran
Health Occupation Students of America- Open to any interested students in grade 8. Middle and High School students meet to explore health related occupations, participate in health and fitness activities, do service projects and can compete in a health related event if desired. Fees vary based on level of involvement.
JAZZ Band (7-8) -David Ruda
This group is open to students in grades 7-8 and involves more advanced music. They meet for early morning practices.
Lit Masters (5-8) -Katie Kovalaske
Open to students in grades 5-8. This is a grade level book club. Students meet once a month in the library during lunch/recess to discuss a book that was read. They usually try to have an activity to go with that book - video, letter to author, etc. The purpose is to give students who enjoy reading an outlet to try new and different genres in a casual environment.
Racing for Education (6-8) -Brenda Fischer
Open to students in grades 6-8. Students fill out a short essay and application in October. Students are notified in January of enrollment. Racing season runs from the end of May until the end of August.
Show Choir (6-8) -Justin Ranek
Open to students enrolled in choir in grades 6-8. They meet before school 2-3 times a week from September-May. The group has home performances and two competitions.
Ski Club (3-5) -Tiffany Schulz
Open to students in grades 3-5. Typical trips will include Nordic Mountain 4 times. Third grade parents are required to attend the trips. Ski/Snowboard lessons are offered during your first two trips.
Ski Club (6-8) -Greg Shepard
Open to students in grades 6-8. Typical trips will include Nordic Mountain 4 times and Ski Brule or a similar resort.
Sources of Strength (5-8) -Theresa Reynoso-Doran
Open to students in grades 5-8. Sources of Strength is a group of student & adult leaders on a mission to help make a difference and spread hope, help, and strength at the ISMS. Students (Peer Leaders) create a culture promoting wellness where students feel comfortable to get help when they are struggling.

Open to students in grades 5-8. Students will be responsible for intermediate/middle school activities that benefit all students and the community in general.
