Sinaloa Middle School uses a program called Naviance for its college and career planning curriculum. Simi Valley Unified School District students will be using this system throughout middle and high school. Naviance is a tool for students, counselors, teachers, and parents to communicate information that will help students with college and career planning.
Each grade level (6th-12th) will be completing certain tasks, assigned by the District, to better prepare students for future college and career goals. A list of grade level student tasks can be found at www.simivalleyusd.org/navianceportal. Teachers and/or counselors will be providing guided lessons in areas such as career exploration, personality and learning style assessment, resume building, and college and scholarship searches.
As well, Naviance Course Planner is an interactive tool to help students plan out the courses they would like to take during middle and high school. Naviance Course Planner allows students to view their school's courses online and create multi-year academic plans to track SVUSD High School graduation requirements and courses needed to meet UC/CSU A-G requirements. A student guide providing step-by-step instructions can be found at bit.ly/svusdnavianceresources. Please note, courses are planned under the student Naviance account. Parent accounts have viewing access only.
All parents/guardians have their own Naviance account and access to explore their child’s Naviance: Family Connection. To visit and register, please follow the directions below:
