Introduction

Tamaki College Mathematics Department wants to run a competition for the best design for the Maths Block wall.

This assessment activity requires you to create a design for the wall.

Your design does not need to fill the space allowed.

You must then provide instructions that a printing company could follow to reproduce the design in one of those formats.

Task

Wall Design:

Make an accurate geometrical drawing of your wall. Your wall should include:

Three or more geometric transformations;
Some form of transformational symmetry, for example, one element has rotational symmetry of a certain order.

Show each step of the process clearly, from individual parts through to the completed design.

Explain all transformations clearly and communicate your thinking. Use correct mathematical statements.

Use google drawing to design your wall paper

Using correct mathematical terms, write instructions that a printing company could follow to reproduce your wall design.

Your instructions need to include descriptions of the transformations which you have used and any symmetries and invariance in your completed design.
