The Honorable Rob Portman
37 W Broad Street, Suite 300
Columbus, OH 43215
Senator Portman:
We the undersigned group of Ohio organizations call upon you to support the Freedom to Vote Act, a transformative legislative package that would create national standards to protect our freedom to vote, get big money out of politics, combat partisan election subversion, and guarantee that congressional districts are drawn to give fair representation for all.
Our democracy is threatened when voting rights are under attack. The Freedom to Vote Act will strengthen our freedom to vote so that we all, regardless of political party, background, or where we live, have an equal say in the future for our family and community. Far from being a federal take over of elections, this legislation provides a minimum baseline for equal access to the polls for every citizen across the nation.
Thank you for considering the Freedom to Vote Act. We hope you will support this very important legislation. If you have any questions, please contact Catherine Turcer of Common Cause Ohio. Her email is cturcer@commoncause.org and her phone number is 614-579-5509.
