PART 1 - Admissions to the 2021/22 school year

Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2021/2022

The following are the dates applicable for admission to Junior Infants

Note: applications made after 31st January 2021 will be processed as late applications. The school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

Failure of an applicant to accept an offer within one week of that offer being made may result in the offer being withdrawn.

Special Class Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2021/22

The following are the dates applicable for admission to the school’s Special Classes which caters for children with Autism

Note: The figures set out below in relation to the Special Classes are subject to change dependent on whether current students in the Special Classes retain their place in the school and whether a student(s) transfers into the school after the publication of this Notice.

Other Year Groups Application and Decision Dates for admission to 2021/22

The following are the dates applicable for admission to other year groups (SI to 6th class)

Note: applications made after 31st January 2021 will be processed as late applications. The school will consider and issue decisions on late applications in accordance with the school’s admission policy.

Number of places being made available in 2021/22

Note:

There are currently 6 children in our Early Intervention Class for Children with Autism and all 6 are expected to stay for the 2021/22 school year. There are currently 6 children in our Primary-age Class for Children with Autism and all 6 are expected to stay for the 2021/22 school year. There are currently at least 50 children in each year group Senior Infants to 6th class and all are expected to stay for the 2021/22 school year. Places in these classes will only be offered if the maximum number set out below  is not met by children already enrolled in the school or if such enrolment is required to bring the overall enrolment of the school to the number required for the retention of 16 mainstream class teachers (currently set at 401 pupils).

Citywest ETNS has accepted applications for places prior to the commencement of Section 62 of the Education (Admission to Schools) 2018 on 1 February 2020. The number of pre-enrolments in this category are as follows:

PART 2 - Admissions to the 2020/21 school year

In respect of the 2020/21 school year, the total number of applications for admission received by the school by 31/1/2020 was 198.

In respect of the 2020/21 school year, the total number of applications for admission received by the school was 67.

In respect of the 2020/21 school year, the total number of applications for admission received by the school was 11.
