The model aligns with the foundational elements of the Juab School District Board of Education’s Strategic Vision and the Utah Teaching and Leadership Standards. STUDENT-CENTERED COACHING 1 district credit for full cycle (4-6 weeks) 0.5 district credits for mini cycle (1-3 weeks) The core practices for Student-Centered Coaching are built on a foundation of formative assessment and backward design. They serve as the drivers for ensuring that coaching impacts teaching and student learning. Coaching is coordinated at each school level. | |||||||||||

CLASSROOM CONNECTIONS 1 re-licensure point/clock hour Three classroom connection days are built into each teacher’s yearly contract. These days may be spent observing teachers in our district or at other sites based on need. Talk to your principal to arrange these days. | |||
LEARNING WALKS 1 re-licensure point/clock hour Typically held in the morning, these walks are meant to engage educators in observation and discussion about classroom practice. Talk to your instructional coach to sign up. | |||
NEW TEACHER ACADEMY BLENDED; 3 district credits. New Teacher Academy is designed to prepare teachers to be successful in Juab School District. Aligned to USBE Portrait of a First-Year Teacher.

PROFESSIONAL LEARNING COMMUNITIES 1 re-licensure point/clock hour Professional learning communities (PLCs) work together to analyze data, discuss solutions, reflect on practice, and have shared ownership of student achievement for all students taught by the educators on the team.

In this course, educators will gain an awareness of the Utah CS standards and how they can be implemented in any curriculum using unplugged activities, robotics, and computer tools. | ||

BEGINNING TEACHER PROFESSIONAL NETWORK REGISTER; 1 re-licensure point/clock hour The Utah State Board of Education is pleased to announce the Beginning Teacher Professional Learning Network – an opportunity for beginning teachers to collaborate with and learn from their peers throughout the state. These monthly convenings are designed to provide support in a variety of topics of interest to beginning teachers while simultaneously offering the opportunity to network with grade-level and subject-matter teachers from other areas of the state. | ||
ONLINE RECORDING; 1 re-licensure point/clock hour All educators must understand the provisions of two major laws—the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) and Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973—and what similarities and differences exist.
